Look out for @inthesetimesmag sharing soon my history of the DSA’s Sanders for prez endorsement processes.
There seems to be some revisionist history it wasn’t contentious in 2020. Very much was.
Who’s the left candidate in 2028?
- no one knows
- frmer AOC spox tells me if she decides to run, it shouldn’t be bc there’s no one else
- DSA tells me if AOC runs & they consider endorsing her, it’ll be more contentious than when they backed Sanders

We send our heartfelt congratulations and greetings in solidarity to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) on its historic victory.
In April and May of this year, the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) and DSA met twice, in New York and Chicago, and reaffirmed our commitment to working together in solidarity. I was deeply moved by DSA’s efforts to address the urgent needs of people across the United States and to build international solidarity for peace, as well as by its program’s call to end the U.S. war machine.
By openly championing socialism, DSA helped elect what will be the largest bloc of socialist lawmakers in U.S. congressional history. This achievement is a tremendous source of encouragement to all those around the world working for peace, progress, and socialism.
We, too, are determined to make great strides. Let us strengthen our friendship and deepen our solidarity across the Pacific!

They spent the last two years gutting the Voting Rights Acts, overturning Affirmative action, gutting DEI, defunding and attacking HBCU's, Firing federal Black workers, cheering anti-Black violence and really just expected black voters to sit at home and take it.

suck it jonathan, your best friend elon burned 450 million to lose races all over the country tonight you bald piece of shit!!!
Of all the people the DSA could have chosen to host its official election night livestream, it chose Hasan Piker, someone who proudly expresses support for terrorist organizations and traffics in antisemitism.
Let that sink in. The DSA isn't distancing itself from this kind of rhetoric. It's elevating it.
When someone tells you who they are, believe them: adl.org/resources/article/ha…

Any podcast I get invited to is my time to talk bad about Bolsonaro, Corinthians, MAGA & Late-Stage Capitalism (not necessarily in that order of importance), but NOT the time to talk bad about any DSA caucus or chapter... I save that for Convention, as God & Lenin intended – at São Caetano do Sul, Brasil
patiently waiting for the outrage from the countless DSA members, including NPC members, who spent days harassing & insulting Eric Blanc for speaking with the media about divisions within DSA. unless it's only "execrable & embarrassing" when someone not in their faction does it?
‼️Inside the DSA (w/ @GoodVibePolitik)‼️
"I think AOC is a political careerist, traditionally an opportunist, & on international issues, someone who generally has to be pressured significantly into even making minor concessions."
James Ray from Philly DSA joins Bad Faith to unpack the good, the bad, & the ugly debates going on within the Democratic Socialists of America, to distinguish the conservative reformist chapters from the genuine leftists, & explain the battle for the soul of the acronym on ever Neoliberal newscasters' tongue.

Eric did nothing wrong and there are a lot of people who I have witnessed do or support much worse in terms of public criticism of the org and its leaders over the last 9 years pretending otherwise

WDM, for all its good parts, was drafted in a closed committee and then amended by the NPC through simple majority votes.
It is not realistic to expect everyone to align themselves 100% to WDM; it is not fair to chastise those who don’t when they never had a say in its makeup.

It's fine actually to disagree publicly with parts of our new national platform or approaches taken by some of our national leaders, when these hurt rather than help our ability to grow and win
We're not a democratic centralist party! And, fwiw, even the Bolsheviks allowed public criticisms!

If an elected member of the US Congress said a Jewish mayor "does not belong" as mayor because they are Jewish -- they'd be canceled for life & forced to resign.

This type of passivism is so analytically damaging. Somehow everyone makes distinct tactical choices, you guys make really strong claims about the consequences of those tactical choices, and then respond to the the actual consequences by pointing to material conditions

NYC DSA is successful because it's in NYC, not because the DSA Right have a supermajority. Though they do deserve credit for the good electoral work they do, it's not like they have a monopoly on it.
