Do the work. Stop trying to fix cultural problems with politicians. "Beautiful Chaos" - Pete Buttigieg and Jamie Harrison

I think Democratic voters should support the candidate who they think best promotes the issues important to them. I think trying to game the bigotry of other people is to effectively enable that bigotry. We shouldn't *not* vote for someone because of their identity.

I hate this question and it's stupid every time it is asked. But what I really hate is how stupid Democrats are when they say "the country isn't ready for one" rather than asking the question, "Why will the GOP be first when we claim to be the civil rights party?"And they will
TMZ: “Are we going to have a female president first or a g*y president?” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY): “Well, we don’t know if we’ve already had a g*y president. I think there’s chances maybe we have but I don’t know.”

I see political forces in percentages of demographics very much like physics. And it requires significantly more force to get a car moving from 10mph to 20mph than it does to get one moving from ~47mph to ~53mph.
The Democratic Party was in denial about this -- still framing the narrative as Trump's victory serving as further proof of white supremacy. Harris's performance among Black voters, the supposed "base" of the party was generationally bad for a Democratic nominee.

Big new demographic tool from the NYT — they find that between 2020-24 in Georgia, white voters shifted one percentage point towards Democrats while Black voters shifted 5 percentage points towards Republicans: nytimes.com/interactive/2024…

People—Democrats, Republicans, Independents—clamoring to support the Peltolas and Coopers is actually a validation of their candidate quality! It’s good to have candidates people want to associate with and that should be a factor when assessing candidate quality!
Ridiculous. For all the folks still pretending El-Sayed’s race is the same as Cooper’s or Peltola’s, do they have former Dem rivals refusing to fully endorse them on national TV? ‘Blue no matter who’ was a hypocritical centrist lie and this hypocrisy may hurt Dems in 2028.

Exactly. We are NOT gonna make an overpriced restaurant another dumb ass cultural war when diesel is over 6.50 a gallon, gas is over 4.00 beef is 8.00 a gallon and the GOP cut Medicaid and ACA subsidies. Defending the Cheesecake Factory is not economic populism.
This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.

I feel like Steve Bannon told the world about this. And this clown Kushner, requesting more classified documents than anyone had Russia reading his phone? I bet someone loaded spyware into his phone at the Trump Tower meeting with the Russians where they offered Hillary dirt.
Jared Kushner is crushed by Dutch intelligence. Jared Bin Lyin.

Pete Buttigieg endorses Independent candidate Seth Bodnar 👏👏👏 ⬇️ "Montanans have always voted for the person more than the party. This year, that person is Seth Bodnar."
Replying to @PeteButtigieg
@PeteButtigieg and I don’t agree on everything. But we agree that Washington, D.C. is broken, and it’s time we take our country back from politicians and party bosses who enable the corruption driving up costs for all of us. Pete is joining a movement of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents who are ready for a senator that answers only to Montanans.

Amazing post Aaron 🙏 Be well.
Taking a break from regularly scheduled programming to speak on the heaviness of this last week after the Silver Rail Elementary shooting. A message from me and my wife Emily: Our hearts have been heavy beyond words this week. Our family has direct ties to Silver Rail and spends a significant amount of time in Bend every year. We in the Annunciation family have been afforded immense support and resources, and we ask that you consider sharing that generosity with Silver Rail. My wife Emily will be posting in the comments the local fundraisers that we are aware of. As parents who were running into our children’s school when a shooting took place, we will also make a plug here to know of and contribute to the work of Sandy Hook Promise. They have developed methods that have actively prevented shootings: sandyhookpromise.org/ And as we say, when you pray move your feet. With immense love for our family and friends in the Silver Line community and Bend, Aaron and Emily
