Replying to @paullewismoney
Axing programmes like Moneybox Live and You & Yours which are surely not that expensive to produce seems a huge backward move. These are the sort of programmes that make the BBC look so good and are so helpful for the audience.

I couldn’t agree more. I listened to You & Yours today and it’s full of useful information and expertly presented by @wrobinson101 The decision to axe it by @BBC @BBCRadio4 is wrong.
Today’s edition of ‘You & Yours’ is a prime example, including on phone scams & malicious bots with stolen credit cards on small firms’ websites. I don’t know any other prog providing such useful info, & with Cyber Security & Resil Bill going thru Parl, BBC bosses need to wake up

You and Yours is often mildly brilliant. And @wrobinson101 no-shite delivery is wonderfully refreshing in a radio world where ‘experts’ can sound far too excited about absolutely everything. @BBCRadio4

I really love You and Yours, exactly as it is. I really hate listening to shows that sound like glorified podcasts. Radio 4 has a particular sound and it dilutes it at its peril telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

You & Yours was not everyone's cup of tea. But that's the point of BBC – it should fund *useful* journalism, not popular journalism. After it axed Watchdog, Y&Y was the last bastion of consumer investigations on BBC. It was a privilege to contribute to it. Real shame it's going

You and Yours?! One of the very best radio programmes in the country. This is moronic.

I'm genuinely sad to hear this. Radio 4 You & Yours is a great consumer show that I'm privileged to have been a part of. Raising awareness of consumer rights and holding firms accountable is the cornerstone of their work and mine.

You & Yours is a superb consumer programme with first rate reporting, especially on scams & the cost of living , with a host who has genuine empathy for the listeners so YES, let's axe that to fund another vacuous celebrity podcast.

Maybe I’m just old school, but if somebody tells you good news, you let them have their moment. You don’t immediately top their story with something better that happened to you.

Dear Airbnb host, NOBODY PACKS THEIR OWN TOILET PAPER FOR A TRIP!! One extra roll is the absolute minimum you should provide. Why am I texting you at 10pm asking where it is, just for you to tell me to run to the store myself? This is getting ZERO stars. Thanks.

What is the point of these messages. I know it’s a scam but how do they get money?

I've just received a council tax bill for the house my Son lived in at the time of his death. I told the council that he'd died in May of last year. They've sent a bill to me 17 months later. I've suggested they give him a visit.

A small thing from West Sussex this morning. Stella is 94. Every week a volunteer minibus comes to her door and takes her to lunch club at Pulborough village hall, because she can't get there on her own and there's nobody else to take her. That bus has been running since 1976. Fifty years of pensioners driving other pensioners to lunch. Today the Princess of Wales knocked on Stella's door and rode the route with her. Picked up two more passengers along the way, sat on the bus, got off at the village hall, had lunch, thanked the volunteers, and left. That's the whole engagement. No stadium, no ribbon, no red carpet. A bus, three old ladies and a plate of something hot. I'll tell you why it matters. There are thousands of Stellas in this country, in villages where the last proper bus went years ago, and the only reason they see another human face on a Wednesday is that somebody with a minibus licence and a free morning decided they should. Nobody funds it properly. Nobody photographs it. The volunteers are mostly retired themselves. It runs on kindness and diesel, and when the kindness stops, so does the lunch. Catherine has spent her whole public life on this one idea: that people fall apart when nobody comes for them, and hold together when somebody does. She could have said it in a speech. She got on the bus instead. Stella got a lift to lunch today with the future Queen. Next week it'll be Sue or Bob or whoever's rostered, and Stella will get there just the same. That's the point. That's always been the point.
