Draft Rule 5(2)–(3) allows exceptions for using wild animals and stray/feral domestic animals under specified conditions. Rule 6 also permits certain experiments on non-human primates under strict conditions.
🐒🐕🐇🐁🐦 Animals can suffer pain, fear, distress and even death in experiments.
Rules that regulate cruelty are not enough. We need stronger protection, mandatory use of validated non-animal alternatives wherever suitable, and a clear phase-out roadmap.

In what court does the accused act as the judge?
Under Rule 11, labs classify their own pain levels and self-approve their own animal trials.
