Every NYT headline about this race is like “Abdul Wins Endorsement of Senior Rabbi Feivel Mouskewitz”
In this list of "Jewish leaders" there are five rabbis. One "is the first rabbi to lead a Unitarian Universalist Congregation." None lead mainstream congregations. One leads a tiny Reconstructionist group that meets in a church. Another is part-time, leading a small congregation in part-time services every other week. The other two have no congregations. There is also a Reverend Lauren Zinn, who was ordained by an interfaith program and doesn't purport to be any sort of Jewish clergy. And like half the people who signed don't even provide their last names, so you have no idea if they are Jews are even real. This is what I call news by press release, where some fringe group issues a press release and gullible or willful media outlets print it like it's real news.

On this day—November 2, 1945 Arab mobs in British-occupied Tripoli and Benghazi massacred 130+ Jews in three days of barbaric violence. Synagogues were burned, homes were looted, and entire families were wiped out. The British intervened slowly and inadequately. Violence against Jews spread across the Arab world. Two years later, on November 24, 1947, the head of the Egyptian delegation to the UN warned the establishment of a Jewish state would threaten “the lives of millions of Jews in Muslim countries” and “create in these countries an antisemitism even more difficult to uproot than the antisemitism the Allies tried to eradicate in Germany.” That prophecy was fulfilled almost immediately. After the November 29 UN partition vote, Jewish communities in Aden (80+ killed), Bahrain, Syria, and Egypt came under attack. In Mandate Palestine, Jews were attacked within hours. The targets were Jewish civilians, including bus ambushes, market massacres, ambushed convoys, and bodies were often mutilated. The war cry was “Itbah al-Yahud”—slaughter the Jews. The Secretary-General of the Arab League declared against the Jews, “a war of extermination and a momentous massacre that will be remembered like the Mongol massacres and the Crusades.” The ancient Jewish communities in what had become the Arab world were from there systematically attacked and ethnically cleansed.

Gaza's story of the year remains ignored: Hamas & PIJ have admitted themselves that FIFTY-NINE of their combatants used the press vest as cover. Once, any Israeli claim that a "journalist" was a combatant was dismissed as propaganda. Now dozens of confirmed cases—still ignored.

Democrats: “The Jews are our misfortune” Also Democrats: “Why are we losing Jewish support?”
This is one of the most comical ads this election cycle. Yes, Americans are chatting at the grocery store about how they can’t buy groceries because their tax dollars “go to Israel” 🙄 😂 nevermind the fact that Israel has invested 100% of military aid in the U.S. economy since Oct 7, and has also purchased over $1 billion *additional* in arms, according to DoD. Federal military aid is also prohibited from being spent on anything other than U.S. arms, so the line about healthcare is even more comical. El Sayed and his Islamist fans like Cenk Uygur want and expect American voters to be so stupid they never check. Not only is this ad insane, conspiratorial, and antisemitic — it is also flat out false. El Sayed isn’t for the people of Michigan, he isn’t even for America. He is for the Muslim Brotherhood.

I follow 35 people, all from the climate/environmental movement that follow this person. He now spouts Nazi-level racist vitriol constantly. Totally disgusting, bigoted antizionist hatred.
Zionists in Canada can either leave their homes and land plots voluntarily or we can arrange something else so that unhoused Indigenous peoples can move into them. We have 18,000 year old claims to their land and property.

Lifelong Anti-Racist: Erm, actually, I think we should be legislating so that a 10 year old Jewish boy is bullied and held accountable for the actions of the State of Israel by his classmates.

Israel needs to stop attacks by Jews against Palestinian civilians in Judea and Samaria for moral, national, and legal reasons. Period. But we should have no illusions that even major, successful law enforcement operations will significantly impact the hostile discourse surrounding Israel, for 3 reasons: 1. Documenting "settler violence" has already become an industry, with well-funded NGOs, professional Palestinian activists, European diplomats, UN bureaucrats, and "journalist" accomplices committed to producing a steady stream of reports about violence against "Palestinian olive harvesters" and the like. @bradlander, and future Brad Landers, will need to instigate clashes with "violent settlers" for electoral purposes. UN bureaucrats need to justify their salaries. Left-wing NGOs need to raise money. Even if Israel were to arrest tomorrow the several hundred hardcore Jewish perpetrators of attacks against Palestinian civilians - and I believe Israel should - this NGO/left-wing industry would continue to generate provocations and do whatever is necessary to ensure a steady stream of incidents for it to “document”. 2. Israel's supporters-turned-critics on the left need something to criticize in order to signal to their peers that they are not unequivocal supporters of Israel. If it's not "settler violence," it will be "settlement expansion," "movement restrictions," "disproportionate force," or something else, in order to demonstrate that they support Israel’s “right to exist” but… 3. In many cases, the debate over Israel has to do with political struggles and evolving trends in the U.S. that are not downstream of any particular Israeli action. Rather, they reflect the role that the idea of Israel plays in political, denominational, intergenerational, media, and other power struggles taking place in the U.S. These dynamics will not change as a result of any particular Israeli initiative (or change in government, for that matter). Again, Israel must do a far better job of ensuring law and order, and protecting all civilians, in Judea and Samaria, for its own sake. Doing so is also important for maintaining the support of some of Israel's most consequential friends in the U.S. But those who argue that Israeli actions on this front, whether by the current or a future government, will have a major impact on the anti-Israel discourse in the U.S. are, unfortunately, mistaken.

“WHY?” It is very heartbreaking to read this handwriting letter. That was the last question 25-year-old Majid Nikandish asked the night before the Islamic Republic executed him: “Tonight, I feel like a little child terrified of an injection. Only one question is on my mind: Why?” We, the people of Iran, are living in horror. Every day, another execution. Another mother destroyed. Another life stolen. In his final letter he asked his mother to smile at his funeral. “I, Majid Nikandish, leave the few belongings I have in prison as keepsakes for my family. Hello, my dear Mom. I know you have had a very difficult life. I’m sorry if I wasn’t a good son. Please forgive me. Please don’t be sad. Stay strong, and please be happy at my funeral. Take care of Mahnaz, Abolfazl, and Razieh. Tonight, I feel like a little child who is afraid of getting an injection. There is only one question left in my mind: WHY? To my sisters, Mahnaz and Razieh, I love you so much. To my brother, Abolfazl, I love you so much. I miss you all. My final wish is that you take care of one another and stay together, no matter what.” Why did he have to die? Why was his life stolen? Why must another mother bury her child? I have no answer for his mother. We have no answer to his brother and sisters. But let’s ask this question to the leaders of the democratic world: Why are you silent? Why don’t you stop legitimizing the regime that is hanging innocent protesters every day? Don’t look away. Don’t leave the people of Iran alone with their executioners. Say his name. Majid Nikandish. And make the world answer his final question: WHY? #MajidNikandish #StopExecutionsInIran

For decades, Israeli regional strategy was based on the premise that the way to secure peace was through giving up land. Now they're testing the opposite proposition, that you get peace through taking the land your enemy uses to attack you and threatening to take more if they can't behave themselves. Wonder what brought about this change. The world may never know teapaw.org/AmichaiStein1/status/2…
🇱🇧🇮🇱 During a tour yesterday by Defense Minister Israel Katz of the western sector of the security zone in Lebanon, he was briefed on several key developments and figures. The briefing also outlined the military operation the IDF is expected to carry out if Hezbollah violates the ceasefire. - The IDF controls a security zone covering approximately 700 square kilometers—nearly twice the size of the Gaza Strip. The zone stretches from the Mediterranean coast in the west to the Beaufort Castle, the Ali Taher Ridge, and the outskirts of Mount Hermon in the east. According to the briefing, the IDF is maintaining a strong defense of communities in the Galilee. - Under the “Silver Plow” plan, initiated by the defense minister with the backing of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, more than 60 Lebanese villages within the security zone, up to the Yellow Line, have reportedly been completely destroyed. These include Bint Jbeil and sites described as major symbols of Hassan Nasrallah and Hezbollah. Three Christian villages remain in the area and are receiving support from Israel. - Approximately 23,000 homes have been destroyed. Among the affected locations is Mansoura, a 1,200-year-old Shiite village that reportedly became a Hezbollah stronghold, complete with tunnels and weapons stockpiles. The village is now uninhabited, and all its homes have been destroyed. - Approximately 200,000 Shiite residents of the security zone remain displaced and have not returned to their homes. - All strategic and tactical tunnels are being located and destroyed. Additional weapons and military equipment are discovered daily and either destroyed or seized. If Hezbollah violates the ceasefire, the IDF is expected to launch an operation to seize the Nabatieh area, followed by a ground offensive westward along the Litani River toward the Mediterranean coast. The stated objective would be to encircle and isolate approximately 2,000 Radwan Force operatives currently located in 140 villages between the Yellow Line and the Litani River, after the civilian population has been evacuated northward.

Antizionists do this with glee. They are intent on transforming Oct 7 from a day of remembrance for the victims of the Hamas massacre to a day of celebration and rage honouring its perpetrators. It is psychopathic behaviour.
Who on earth chooses the anniversary of the largest massacre of Jews since the Second World War, to protest against Jews - and not just anywhere, but outside one of the main communal groups of Jews? It is beneath contempt

The indomitable human spirit of mother and daughter. Left: as a Hamas terrorist was pointing a gun to her head, 67-year-old kibbutznik, Kinneret Gat, stuck out her tongue at him on camera before he executed her. Right: Kinneret’s daughter was Carmel Gat, one of the ‘beautiful six’, which refers to the six hostages murdered in captivity in August 2024. Carmel was an occupational therapist specialising in mental health, and released hostages have reported how she taught them mediation and yoga to help them cope with captivity. This is how the Hamasniks protesting today should be responded to: with the brave defiance of Kinneret and the quiet resilience of Carmel. May their memories forever be a blessing.
An astounding woman (and kibbutznik granny) in life, an absolute legend on the moment of her murder. The Hamas gun was already pointing at Kinneret Gat’s head.

This man is a hero. Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit. Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers. Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives. Indian. Israeli. Emirati. Different nationalities. One extraordinary act of courage. 🇮🇳🇮🇱🇦🇪 We wish Captain Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.

Since when did the Canadian Muslim Public Affairs Council become the authority on how Jewish Canadians experience antisemitism? This comes after a week in which Jewish communities across Canada have faced a series of violent attacks and serious threats — from Belleville to Durham, Kitchener and Kingston. We encourage CMPAC, and any organization serious about combating hate, to recognize what the Carney government has clearly affirmed: antizionism is antisemitism.
CMPAC is deeply concerned by Public Safety Canada’s National Commitments to Combat Antisemitism Summer 2026 Progress Report that centres the questionable IHRA Working Definition at the core of the framework for understanding antisemitism, and further expands the definition to include anti-Zionism. The report explicitly identifies “anti-Zionism” as a “contemporary manifestation of antisemitism” and documents the expanding use of the IHRA Working Definition across government, law enforcement, prosecution, and public institutions. Conflating opposition to Zionism with hatred or discrimination against Jewish people risks collapsing the important distinction between political expression and antisemitism. This is especially concerning as the IHRA framework becomes increasingly embedded in institutional training and operational guidance for police and prosecutors. CMPAC is further concerned that a framework with potentially significant implications for Palestinian, Arab, Muslim, and civil-liberties communities has been advanced without meaningful consultation with those communities. CMPAC has a clear stance against all forms of hate, including antisemitism, and supports initiatives that combat all forms of hate including antisemitism. But this must not come at the expense of protected freedom of expression, legitimate advocacy for Palestinian rights, and the ability to criticize the policies and actions of any state, including Israel and Canada. publicsafety.gc.ca/cnt/rsrcs…

Joint Statement by CIJA and Jewish Federations of Canada – UIA: Jewish Canadians are emerging from Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, to the horrifying images of gunfire outside Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville, where members of the Jewish community had gathered to pray. We are profoundly grateful to Constable Jeff Smith who acted heroically in risking is own life to protect his fellow Canadians. Our entire community prays for his full and speedy recovery. The investigation into last night's events is ongoing, but one fact requires no investigation: Jewish Canadians should not need armed police outside their synagogues simply to pray safely. Canadians cannot accept a future, as now exists in Europe, in which synagogues and Jewish schools can only operate safely behind permanent armed police and soldiers with machine guns. With Parliament returning this week, governments at every level must turn their attention to the domestic situation and the growing threat of extremist violence here in Canada. We are calling for immediate action: · Leaders need to speak clearly: antizionism is driving violence against Canadians. The demonization of Israel offers a green light for extremists who target the Jewish community. This includes when governments single Israel out or hold it to a double-standard. Canadian security officials have repeatedly warned about the potential for international conflicts and grievances to be exploited by extremists at home. Governments must take that threat seriously and confront antisemitism consistently, including when it is expressed through double standards in foreign policy, and the demonization or delegitimization of Israel. · Convene federal, provincial and territorial attorneys general and public safety ministers to prioritize enforcement, disrupt extremist networks, strengthen intelligence coordination, and ensure those who threaten or perpetrate violence are held accountable. · We need streamlined processes that enable Jewish institutions to rapidly request and secure paid-duty police officers during periods of elevated attendance and risk. The framework should allow for prioritized and expedited approvals, a designated point of contact within participating police services, and access to sufficient federal funding to help offset paid-duty policing costs. · Confront extremist ideologies, organizations and foreign state actors that promote, finance, facilitate or direct violence in Canada, including the documented threat posed by the Iranian regime and its proxies. No more thoughts and prayers. The clock is ticking and our leaders must act before lives are lost.
