Following up on the last video, there are a couple of things I want to address. "Who cares, it's Reddit." Two answers to that. First, this goes well beyond Reddit, and that distinction matters. This has been my experience across online spaces in entertainment generally, and it's the experience of just about every right-of-center person who builds any real momentum. It's harsh, but it's a ceiling and you will hit it. Second, being a person who can shrug at Reddit and owning an entertainment business are two different things. As a regular guy, sure, who cares. The business owner doesn't get that luxury. Reddit is a metrics surface that partners pay attention to, and more importantly it's where normies go to look something up before they buy it. The same is true of nearly every mainstream online square that isn't X. They all have us boxed out to some degree. They know we exist. It's just taboo to say so. That's the part that actually affects a company trying to grow. And this is why, even though I know people cringe at the idea of creators making content specifically for a right-of-center audience, I understand exactly why they do it. It's often the only way to get that audience's attention, even briefly. It's one of the few things that reliably galvanizes them, because outside of something going viral or attaching itself to a movement, that base doesn't go looking for original work outside the mainstream (unless it's Japanese/Eastern). Which is the harder thing to say. It's rare to see the right invest in original entertainment. It's a reactionary base that treats entertainment as simultaneously unimportant and yet only worth consuming when it comes from the mainstream. That combination is a problem. I actually respect what the Daily Wire is doing more than most, because it's at least something. But even they have to use politics as the foundation to get people interested in the first place. It's a love-hate relationship. The lack of organization and confidence on that side is exactly why it hasn't become powerful enough to make being boxed out (by like Reddit) irrelevant. Meanwhile the other side won't engage with neutral content if they've decided the person making it is taboo. Not the content. The person. So you're left with very few options. Be 'liberal', stay quiet, or nod along. Those are the terms for having your work judged on its merits instead of on who made it.
