Bungie purists will bang on a out how X mechanic doesn't belong in Halo because it "breaks the flow" but will swear by 64-128 players on a map designed for 8 as if it is the best thing since sliced bread.
No one is disputing mods being fun for a while, but the hypocrisy is wild.

There is no such thing as a “343 fan” in a vacuum. They’re just Halo fans.
We enjoy all of it. Not because it is perfect and not because a myriad of mistakes haven’t been made.
Labels only need to be given to those who decidedly only like certain games in the franchise.

Replying to @DestinLegarie
there are too many claims and sources flying around of late to start addressing them all (in due time), but this one is annoyingly false.
There was no "leadership blacklist." Sure, some ppl and partners understandably don't like negative/critical sentiment or coverage - particularly with things like review copies/early access which are inherently intended to drive (good) awareness. Xperia's video actually directly led to some specific AI improvements at the finish line. Who knows who might have or have not been included "next time", there was no next time even on deck. It's all just speculative and baseless.
"the thing we don't like ended up in the game" doesn't correlate to "the developers only listened to yes-men in the community." Overall project and stakeholder vision and intent, real world constraints (time/resources), and/or conflicting preferences shared by different groups are all reasons why things end up the way they do that any of us may not like in the end result.
In my experience in some of these groups, feedback was measured and mature, and there were countless debates, but certainly not just glazing for the sake of glazing. Personal opinions vary as much as those across this passionate community. T
Additionally, something like a council group is but one vector of insights that goes along with traditional user research (administered hands-on tests and focus surveys), inputs like support tickets, playtesting, partners, and even anecdotal community feedback - positive and negative (videos, posts, etc.).
I'm grateful for everyone who has shared feedback in a respectful, constructive manner wherever and however it occurred. It's a gift and Halo is fortunate to have such a passionate longstanding community. I look forward to seeing how community and player insights shape the future of Halo.

I know this might get me in a lot of hot water but;
Wanting to "It was all a dream" Halo 4-Infinite is incredibly lazy and not even remotely good writing, and is infinitely worse writing than what people accuse Halo 5 of.

You’re overthinking it. Bungie games have always included references to “old mythical stuff” from many sources. Sumerian (ziggurats), Greek (Spartans), Norse (Mjolnir), and of course Christianity as well - but it’s a giant soup of mythological shit from many cultures. Same certainly goes for Marathon and Destiny.

It’s simple: reboot and you lose a shit ton of people that would’ve bought the game because of their love of the halo universe as a whole and alienating people that have been fans of the lore as a whole to appease people on twitter isn’t a good idea
Halo fans are divided on whether or not Activision should completely reboot the franchise or keep Master Chief's story going. bit.ly/46BVEXJ

Want an easy win Halo Studios?
Outsource development on a port of Halo 5 Guardians to PC. That'll fill in time nicely inbetween multiplayer releases.

A message from id

ALT a statement with the following words: A Message from id Thank you all for the support this week. While our studio was impacted, those changes were spread across teams. We still have the crew we need to build the games and tech we're known for. The team today is about the same size we were when making Doom 2016. We have always had a flat studio where everyone is a maker, and we will remain true to that philosophy moving forward. We are focused on supporting each other and the team members impacted. We’re going to keep building the great games and tech that have defined us for the past 35 years, and we’re looking forward to seeing you at QuakeCon this August.

I do not blame sony or microsoft for closing down some of these studios. A LOT of them just sat there and recieved nonstop funding and were putting out like 1 game every 7 years that would just flop and range from mid to terrible.

I'll take Campaign-only Remakes for $50 every 2-3 years I hope, not ideal but not a major sin either.
But that compromise better mean either a feature-complete Halo 7 and/or a well-planned, fully functional Halo live-service multiplayer before this decade ends.
Launching a new Halo game with lower than minimum features is dooming the game to fail before it even ships.
Halo Campaign Evolved has:
-No Multiplayer
-No Custom Games
-No Forge
-No Firefight
-No Theater
That's already a disaster.
Halo Infinite had nice mountains and trees too... that doesn't keep players around.

Hey @asha_shar, it’s wonderful news that Black Ops 1 and 2 are coming to PS4 and PS5, however Xbox owners are getting left behind here with no communication.
The Xbox 360 servers are hacked to death so nobody plays old multiplayer cods there. It would be amazing if those servers could be upgraded to Xbox One servers to help with this problem.
The Treyarch tweet about these ports was their most liked EVER. There is real interest in being able to boot up a modern day console and play older COD games online without security risks or cheaters in every lobby, I personally had all my original MW2 stats deleted by a hacker when I tried to play it last on Xbox.
Since Xbox owns Call of Duty as a whole, it would at least be worth communicating to your players what’s going on and why PS users get this kind of an update while the franchise you OWN is still unplayable on your own platforms.
I’d be lying if I said this doesn’t feel like a slap in the face to loyal xbox fans. Happy it’s coming to other platforms in a playable form, unhappy the actually company that owns the entire franchise is the one that will be outdated after this.

I made an edit of the Campaign Evolved logo to try giving it a bit more of a 2000's feel #HaloCE
