Super ignorant take tbh. The Democratic party has it's flaws for sure. But many of those who will now be Congressmen and Congresswomen come January were not a part of Congress during the Biden administration. Moreover, irrespective of which political party a given American supports, that does not somehow mean that they do not truly support Palestine. Palestine has supporters on both sides of the U.S. political spectrum. Most importantly, I think people need to accept a harsh reality. Even in supporting Palestine, Americans have to also decide what is best for them at home. Even if Palestine is seen as a top priority, that does not mean it is the only priority. Foreign policy is important to America; but so are domestic affairs. Whether one likes it or not, voting is generally not a choice of "good vs bad", but "bad vs worse".
To those celebrating Democratic wins while claiming solidarity with Palestine: Palestinians are reading your celebrations. The families who buried children killed with weapons the Democratic Party sent are reading your tweets of joy.

I'm happy to announce that a recent essay of mine has officially been approved and can be accessed for free on the Berkeley Institute for Islamic Studies site! According to Stephen Shoemaker, the two descriptions of the gardens of Paradise in Q 55 appear to reflect two initially separate works which have now been combined into a single textual unit. My thesis challenges this claim. bliis.org/research/the-garde…

Tomorrow, November 3rd, is your last chance to vote to get money out of politics, put money in pockets, and pass Medicare for All. Get out there (and bring a friend!)

Most fun episode of Misquoting Allah yet. Enjoy and Happy Halloween! 👻 In this video I criticize the claim made by Prof. Gabriel Reynolds (@GabrielSaidR) that the Qur'ān does not present wearing the female head covering as an obligation. youtu.be/E16cYVDGCRI

If I saw a pediatrician sitting down discussing aspects of his profession with Jeffrey Epstein, it would make me seriously question the goals and/or agenda of that pediatrician. How should I react when a Qur'ānic Studies scholar sits down discussing aspects of his profession with a blatant Islamophobe?

For clarity, these remarks run counter to the religious test ban in Article VI of the U.S. Constitution. Bernie Moreno is implying that the Constitution is inadequate in its current form. His political vision is not compatible with the U.S. Constitution.
Moreno says El-Sayed can’t be a senator because he doesn’t understand that Jesus came here for our salvation.

Yasir Qadhi has been attacked from various sides, but it is worth remembering that he has spoken out clearly (with more credibility than most) against Jihadi-Salafism - & was courageous enough to face threats for this. From his recent book, "Understanding Salafism" 👇

If you are a Muslim and you're more worried about kids dressing up in costumes for Halloween than you are about governments weaponizing Islam to inflict actual harm on people, your ears are dull and eyes are blind.
If you are a Christian and you're more worried about kids dressing up in costumes for Halloween than you are about your government weaponizing Christianity to inflict actual harm on people, your ears are dull and eyes are blind.

Muhammad really sent some of his followers to Christian Ethiopia! Is there evidence for this in the Qur'ān itself? My (Substack) article on the historical likelihood of the "first hijra": oasesofwisdom.substack.com/p…

No, Taliban’s laws =/ Shariah. Taliban laws = Taliban’s interpretation of Shariah cherry picked to implement in modern state. Shariah is an ideal about God’s law & guidance which is then interpreted by every single Muslim branch/community differently using its own methodology.

Here, @RealCandaceO continually tries to distract from the questioner’s very valid point: A less-than-full presentation of the available data in the instance of any given study is methodologically dishonest. youtu.be/YSSIZSw7ANw

Why isn't @dmontetheno1 reporting on this?!
🚨🚨 SHIRK ALERT 🚨🚨 Hadith claims Muhammad said: “I am Aḥmad without the mīm; I am Arab without the ʿayn. Whoever has seen me has seen the Truth.” Aḥmad أحمد − mīm م = Aḥad أحد → THE ONE ʿArab عرب − ʿayn ع = Rabb رب → THE LORD al-Ḥaqq الحق = THE TRUTH → GOD is THE TRUTH Muhammadan Christology
