The average person does not realize that men as IPV victims is a "new" research area.
IPV was initially only framed as something men do to women. As more research is conducted, it becomes clear this is wrong. Men are abused by female partners often, in the same ways, to the same lasting impact.
Men also face unique problems in IPV women don't.

I wonder what is the position of Refuge on men who claim to be women? It has always seemed a very strange conundrum that so many of the extremely well funded organisations that claim to protect female victims of male violence are either silent about sex or actively agree men can be women, such as Charlotte Proudman.

Fixating on someone who’s minding their own business, repeatedly forcing yourself into their personal space until they assert a boundary, then playing the victim and smear-campaigning them as the attacker is rapey and deeply predatory behavior.

Your happiness threatens and offends them.
If you are happy and look well adjusted, then that is going to screw up the narrative that they’re trying to paint that you are the problem. So they have to do everything they possibly can to make you miserable and angry and depressed.
