If these prophecies about AI bots hacking everyone's bank accounts start to come true, it won't be long before courts start applying strict liability to AI companies--probably stretching the ultrahazardous/abnormally dangerous activities concept.

I'm just going to point out that there are two people at the start of this hike.

I think you should see the video before deciding it wasn’t that impressive.
The testosterone level of the parents at these youth wrestling tournaments is just out of control. And don’t even get me started about the dads.

He spent a lot of time personally typing this memoir!
I was talking about my kid with another dad, and the dad said, “he’s destined for something.” And I said “greatness?” And he just smiled and shrugged and and walked away.

Navier Stokes? Never heard of that law firm.
When you are at a special event watching your kids, you should:
41%Enjoy the moment
5%Record it all
54%Make a poll about it on X
41 votes • Final resultsIf you are 27 years old you might feel like you are young but, just like me, you will be referred to as “a person from the 1900s.”
Even prior to AI, the percentage of originality in some law review articles in top law reviews is extremely low. 90%+ of some well-placed articles is just doctrinal summaries and paraphrased regurgitation of existing literature.
We need an inverse-Pangram. It tells you what percentage of your article is substantively original (i.e., doesn't map onto existing literature, whether word-for-word OR paraphrased, whether AI generated or not).

A rare opportunity to disagree with The Hoff.
So first, he is right on all the main points, including flooding and how ugly AI slop is, &c.
But I don't love the remedy (and I suspect he isn't too excited about it either?). Pangram is measuring the wrong thing and is also gamable (less so than I thought in the past!). Still the semi lazy can just have Claude generate an article and then rewrite it using meat tokens, and the AI signature disappears without resolving any of the underlying problems. The truly lazy will use AI humanizers, but I haven't benchmarked those.
What to do? Use AI to identify works worthy of human attention! AI triage is the only robust way forward IMHO, and also, I suspect that it's being done covertly anyways.
A lot more to say but I wanted to outline this quickly
I just overheard someone in the hallway describing transactional law to a student as, "Filing documents, copying and pasting, stuff like that," and I couldn't really argue.
