$QRL consistently at the top of PQ crypto listings
Imagine waking up to discover the cryptography protecting billions in crypto assets may no longer be secure.
Crypto talks about scalability and adoption. What if computers challenge the cryptography protecting our wallets?
Current quantum computers cannot break blockchains, but research is advancing. I researched the threat, projects and opportunity.
THE THREAT
Blockchains use digital signatures to authorize transactions. Bitcoin and Ethereum rely on elliptic-curve cryptography, which a sufficiently powerful quantum computer could attack with Shor’s algorithm to derive private keys from exposed public keys.
Grover’s algorithm offers a quadratic speedup against hashes and symmetric encryption. “Harvest now, decrypt later” means storing encrypted data today for future decryption.
THE ALTERNATIVE: PQC
NIST finalized in 2024:
→ ML-KEM: shared-key establishment.
→ ML-DSA: lattice-based signatures.
→ SLH-DSA: hash-based signatures.
Migration means larger signatures, higher verification costs and upgrades to wallets, contracts and validators. Cryptographic agility matters.
PROJECTS TO WATCH
1. QRL ($QRL) — Uses XMSS, a hash-based quantum-resistant one-time signature scheme.
2. Algorand ($ALGO) — Uses FALCON for state proofs and account authorization; broader upgrades targeted by end-2027.
3. Starknet ($STRK) — Account abstraction enables custom signatures. An experimental quantum-resistant wallet transacted on mainnet in July 2026 (~$0.06). STARK proofs use hash-based assumptions, but not every component is quantum-safe.
4. QANplatform ($QANX) — Building lattice-based signatures and QAN XLINK for account migration.
5. Abelian ($ABEL) — Lattice-based cryptography with privacy features.
6. Nervos ($CKB) — Exploring alternative authentication and SPHINCS+-related approaches.
7. Project Eleven — Yellowpages aims to coordinate quantum-safe protection for bitcoin holdings without an immediate fork.
8. Ethereum — Targets quantum resistance across execution, consensus and data by December 2029.
9. Cardano — Exploring post-quantum integration, including Dilithium signatures.
10. Sui ($SUI) — Plans ML-DSA-65 accounts and SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s vaults; mainnet target Q1 2027, subject to audits.
11. Quantus — Post-quantum mainnet launched September 2026; QTC introduced in October.
12. Bitcoin — StarkWare’s experimental QSB enabled a quantum-safe mainnet transaction in August 2026. Optimization cut estimated compute cost $320→$67 (~79%); $67 was a benchmark, not a second transaction. QSB cannot protect coins with exposed public keys; a soft fork remains the broader fix.
WHY NOW?
Google Quantum AI’s March 2026 estimates put attacks on 256-bit elliptic-curve cryptography at fewer than 1,200–1,450 logical qubits. These are error-corrected, not today’s noisy physical qubits; this is theoretical, not a practical attack.
WHERE’S THE OPPORTUNITY?
Opportunities: quantum-safe wallets, migration, efficient verification, account abstraction, agility, custody and interoperability.
Quantum resistance doesn’t guarantee token value. Watch deployment, audits, adoption and full-stack protection.
RESEARCH WATCHLIST
Quantum-focused:
$QANX @QANplatform | $CELL @cellframenet | $QRL @QRLedger | $ABEL @PQabelian | $NAORIS @NaoXprotocol
Established / other:
$ALGO @Algorand | $XDC @XDCNetwork | $STRK @Starknet | $HBAR @hedera | $IOTA @iota | $CKB @NervosNetwork | $XNT @NeptunePrivacy | $ZEC @Zcash
Also: @projecteleven, @ethereum, @Cardano_CF, @SuiNetwork, Quantus.
Research watchlist: some have deployed components; others are still researching or planning.
MY TAKE
Quantum computing won’t break crypto tomorrow, but upgrading live networks takes years. Winners will prove security, practical migration and performance without sacrificing decentralization.
Post-quantum cryptography may be quiet today, but decisions now could shape which networks are ready for the next generation.

What happened in October?
👉 Uptober failed, with roughly $300B wiped from the market and BTC sliding from about $87K to $77K, its second red October in a row.
👉 Binance suffered a roughly $6.3B hack around October 29, the largest crypto theft on record, with attackers draining hot wallets across about 10 chains.
👉 Around $3B of the stolen funds was frozen on-chain, and Binance pledged to cover all losses from its reserves.
👉 The Fed held rates at 3.75-4.00% on October 28 in a 10-2 vote, with both dissenters wanting a hike, and December hike odds rose to about 80%.
👉 PCE inflation printed 3.6% headline and 3.1% core, keeping higher-for-longer rate expectations in place.
👉 Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw a $485M outflow on October 7, their largest since June, and another day above $635M on October 23.
👉 ETH fell roughly 17-22% and SOL roughly 19-26%, both worse than Bitcoin, while altcoins broadly lagged.
👉 HYPE held up as a relative outperformer, and Zcash and Monero posted weekly gains while most of the market bled.
👉 OCC finalized its GENIUS Act rules for payment stablecoins on October 21, effective January 18, 2027.
👉 SEC comments on the proposed Regulation Crypto Assets closed October 20, while the CLARITY Act stayed stalled in the Senate.
👉 Chainlink launched 24/7 pricing for tokenized stocks, commodities and RWAs, and Samsung added USDC transfers on Galaxy phones.
👉 Crypto groups spent about $176M on the midterms ahead of the November 3 vote, which could unstick the market structure bill.

Yes. QRL never used ECDSA. Its mainnet has required XMSS (hash-based signatures) for every account since 2018. Shor’s algorithm breaks elliptic-curve discrete logs, not hash preimage resistance. QRL 2.0 switches to NIST-standardized ML-DSA-87 (lattice-based), also post-quantum. Your QRL keys stay safe against the attack the author describes.

Binance just lost $6.3B because one set of keys was compromised.
Quantum computers won't need to compromise anything. They'll derive private keys from public ones, on every ECDSA chain, at once.
No freeze. No bailout.

Initially, I thought quantum-resistant blockchains were mainly about protecting against quantum computers.
But what if breakthroughs in classical algorithms could challenge today's cryptography too?
A good time to take a closer look at Quantum Resistant Ledger (QRL).

The base:0x37696cd8f723ce541ac376f79fc109080e505ba3 Cashtag on X points to a token that is not QRL.
The Quantum Resistant Ledger is an independent, post-quantum secure Layer-1 blockchain, live since 2018. QRL is not a token on Base, Ethereum, Solana, or any other chain.
Right now, tapping the QRL Cashtag on X shows the chart for an unaffiliated Base ERC-20, created April 3, 2026, that copies our name and ticker:
0x37696cd8f723ce541ac376f79fc109080e505ba3
This token has no connection to QRL. It already has 92 holders and roughly $6,000 in buyer ETH in its trading pool, people who may believe they bought QRL. Please don't buy it, and don't rely on the QRL Cashtag for price info until this is fixed.
What we've done so far:
- Reported to X Support on Oct 6, followed up Oct 15
- Contacted the Cashtag data partners
- Posted a public warning on Oct 12
What we're asking X:
Map the QRL Cashtag to the native QRL asset, or show it as ambiguous with no default contract
Stop defaulting to any Base contract that uses our name. Dozens of clones exist, so removing one won't solve it.
For those copied FYI:
- Cashtag partners: Please help route this to the team that owns asset mapping
- DEX Screener & Base: Please flag this contract as impersonating QRL
We're glad to provide any verification needed. Proof of the real QRL in the reply below 👇
📢 QRL community, we need your help:

10 post-quantum crypto projects worth watching before 2027 👇
recently, i've noticed more attention flowing into post-quantum crypto projects, especially smaller caps focused on quantum-resistant security.
after my previous post about 10 alpha picks on @safetrade, i decided to dig deeper into this narrative.
one thing is becoming clear: quantum security is gradually moving from a long-term concept to actual blockchain development.
NIST standardized its first post-quantum cryptographic algorithms in 2024, and several crypto projects have already started implementing them.
i believe this could become an interesting narrative heading into 2027, particularly for projects that already have working technology.
here are 10 projects on my watchlist:
[1] base:0x37696cd8f723ce541ac376f79fc109080e505ba3 | @QRLedger
– one of the earliest quantum-resistant blockchains, using XMSS signatures since its 2018 mainnet launch.
– built around post-quantum security from day one, with a long operating history.
[2] $QTC | @QuantusNetwork
– launched mainnet in sep 2026 with native ML-DSA signatures.
– combines PoW, post-quantum security and ZK-based transaction aggregation.
– a relatively new pure-play project i'd keep watching as its mining ecosystem and liquidity develop.
[3] algorand:native | @Algorand
– Falcon-based State Proofs have been live since 2022.
– native Falcon-1024 accounts became available on mainnet in aug 2026.
– one of the more established L1s making measurable progress on quantum-resistant accounts.
[4] $NEAR | @NEARProtocol
– introduced ML-DSA transaction signing on mainnet in jul 2026.
– users can add post-quantum access keys to existing accounts.
– its broader roadmap also covers wallet support, consensus and cross-chain security.
[5] $STRK | @Starknet
– experimental Falcon-512 account transactions have already been demonstrated on mainnet.
– account abstraction allows wallets to adopt different signature schemes without a network-wide hard fork.
– still early, but i think this flexibility could become increasingly valuable.
[6] $MCM | @mochimocrypto
– has used WOTS+ hash-based signatures since genesis in 2018.
– another early native post-quantum project with a different security architecture.
– worth watching as more attention shifts toward smaller, crypto-native PQC networks.
[7] $CELL | @cellframenet
– a quantum-resistant Layer 0 focused on decentralized services and infrastructure.
– supports post-quantum signatures, including Dilithium, with a flexible cryptographic architecture.
– an interesting infrastructure play if demand for quantum-safe blockchain services expands.
[8] $QANX | @QANplatform
– building a quantum-resistant, EVM-compatible blockchain.
– uses ML-DSA-based technology and supports smart-contract development across multiple programming languages.
– public mainnet delivery and actual ecosystem adoption remain important catalysts to monitor.
[9] $SUI | @SuiNetwork
– developing native ML-DSA-65 accounts and hash-based quantum-safe vaults.
– targeting testnet support by late 2026 and mainnet account authentication in Q1 2027.
– a larger-cap project with a clear post-quantum development roadmap.
[10] tezos:native | @tezos
– launched Quantumnet, an experimental post-quantum testnet, in sep 2026.
– developers are testing quantum-resistant consensus and network architecture.
– still a research-stage initiative, but a project worth tracking for further upgrades.
---------------------------------
i see two potential opportunities in this narrative.
– smaller pure-play projects like base:0x37696cd8f723ce541ac376f79fc109080e505ba3, $QTC, $MCM and $CELL could attract more speculative attention if post-quantum becomes a stronger market theme.
– established ecosystems like algorand:native, $NEAR, $STRK and $SUI could benefit from making quantum-resistant security available to existing users.
personally, i'll be paying closer attention to projects that can demonstrate real onchain implementation, active development and improving liquidity.
ofc, having post-quantum technology doesn't automatically make a token undervalued. adoption, tokenomics and valuations still matter.
i think this narrative is worth watching into 2027.
10 alpha picks on @safetrade exchange 👇
recently, projects listed on @safetrade have been getting more attention, especially those focused on privacy, post-quantum security, PoW and decentralized compute.
some tokens like $PEARL and tensorcash:native have already shown strong momentum.
i've always believed that liquidity follows attention. when a new narrative starts gaining traction, opportunities often emerge in projects that haven't attracted much attention yet.
SafeTrade is becoming an interesting place to look for early-stage projects, as several tokens get listed there before making their way to larger exchanges.
this morning, i spent some time going through the listings and picked out 10 projects i believe have growth potential.
here's my watchlist:
[1] $PEARL | @prlnet – AI compute & research
[2] tensorcash:native | @Tensorcash – verifiable AI inference
[3] $QUANTUS | @QuantusNetwork – post-quantum security
[4] base:0x9b5e262cf9bb04869ab40b19af91d2dc85761722 | @nockchain – ZK-powered PoW blockchain
[5] $QUBIC | @Qubic – decentralized AI compute
[6] $NPT | @NeptuneCash – privacy & post-quantum cryptography
[7] minotari:native | @tari – PoW ecosystem
[8] $GNK | Gonka – decentralized AI compute
[9] $XEL | XELIS – privacy-focused PoW blockchain
[10] $CLORE | @clore_ai – decentralized GPU marketplace
i'll be keeping an eye on these projects, especially those with active development, growing communities and improving liquidity.
ofc, not every token will perform well, and liquidity is still thin across many SafeTrade pairs.
but if this narrative continues to gain traction, i believe more opportunities could emerge from this list.

Most projects are building for the next bull run. But QRL (@QRLedger) is building for the next generation of cryptography.
Years before quantum security became a mainstream discussion, QRL was already working on the problem. Today, it remains one of the few blockchain projects with real-world experience in post-quantum security.
The market often rewards hype first and fundamentals later.
If quantum resistance becomes a priority across crypto, QRL may be one of the projects best positioned to benefit.
