How can India become a wealthy, prosperous nation? A customer-centric, combinatoric application of general purpose technologies is required for raising economic output 40-50x over a few generations.

Can’t read the full article but the gist as posted by the journal shows once again the ugly face of the British establishment media . They just can’t stomach a rising India under a strong and confident leadership. They want to stoke turmoil in India and see an opportunity.
Narendra Modi’s party had used sleazy political tactics and its control of institutions to break up rival state parties and lure away their lawmakers. Voters accepted that. Under dispute now is whether the game itself is fixed economist.com/asia/2026/10/1…
eMudhra got a lot of government business. L1 pricing drives the company winning bids to cut corners in this manner. What is a critical security business, is reduced to program management at the cheapest possible cost.
If a global disaster of this scale doesn’t shake the government procurement system out of its inertia and stupor, I don’t know what will.
These failed policies are not only degrading India’s capabilities, they are making a laughing stock of the country.
What has been committed by the turds of eMudhra is a 26/11 equivalent digital disaster.
This entity should be finished off. Anybody who was linked to this fiasco should never get into a position of responsibility in cybersecurity. The officials who allowed this entity to win so much government business should be pulled up.
Our country cannot fool around in this manner when we are pushing digitalization in practically all domains of business, government and citizen services.
A shocking degree of incompetence, stupidity and gross negligence.
Inexcusable and unforgivable. It is insane and scary how this company managed to grab so much government business with this hyper incompetence.
This company should cease to exist.

You need update your browser and your phone/laptop operating system. Now.
Because this is some serious shit.
The internet relies on digital certificates to prove websites are genuine. Eight eMudhra certificates have been distrusted worldwide after their secret keys were found to be crackable.
Imagine it like someone forging passports that border control can’t tell are fake.
Browsers have already moved to block them. Updating makes sure the fix reaches you.
Eight private keys used to issue web security certificates by Bengaluru-headquartered eMudhra Ltd. have been leaked, sending security teams at major internet browser and operating system developers around the world scrambling to patch their systems to stop trusting the affected certificates.

Have you noticed the not-so-subtle difference?
This is a Reuters image of protests in France. Most of the western media reportage on French protests focus exclusively and overwhelmingly on brutality, destruction and anarchy of the protestors, portraying them as out of control monsters.
In contrast, most of the visual reportage of protests in India focus exclusively on police action on violent protestors. Rarely would you find images of destruction, though these were widely noted.
This isn't a coincidence. The lens is revealing. The visual imagery creates two narratives. One, protests in West are "evil". Protests in India are "against evil".
“China proposed export controls on 40 technologies in artificial intelligence, biomedicine and solar manufacturing on Friday, including outright bans on 14.
The Chinese Commerce Ministry and Ministry of Science and Technology published the draft changes for public comment on Oct. 16. The remaining 26 technologies would require export licenses.
The proposal would tighten oversight of technology transfers underpinning Chinese companies’ overseas expansion.”

“India’s growth lag stems from cross-border friction in data, capital, and trade. Implementation and design failures - such as RBI systems, data localisation, investment screening, FEMA changes, and KYC duplication - raise uncertainty and deter investment. These linked frictions require architectural reform.” blog.theleapjournal.org/2026…

China announces export controls for tunnel boring machines (TBMs)
From Nov 18, exporting TBMs will require a licence. These are the machines fuelling India’s infrastructurebooming especially metros and highway tunnels.
Beijing is classifying them as “dual-use” items, which gives the move a security label, but in effect it is economic coercion.
This has happened before. In 2024, China began delaying customs clearances for TBM shipments to India, and in August 2025 it told India it had lifted the curbs on TBMs. With this licence rule, the delays become a formal mechanism that Beijing can tighten or loosen whenever relations change.
India’s dependence here is real, but it is narrower than it might look. TBM imports from China had already dropped sharply, from $18 million in 2022-23 to $3 million in 2023-24, and most self-propelled TBMs have come from outside China. The serious risk is deayed metro timelines and cost escalation if suppliers’ Chinese plants or components get stuck in licensing.
India’s response has to be to make these machines itself, and that work has started. The government is preparing a $1.2 billion incentive scheme to make tunnel boring machines, firefighting equipment and elevators in India. It is expected to bring in about $1.8 billion in investment over seven years.
BEML is preparing to manufacture TBMs locally, and L&T could also benefit. Building this capacity will take years, but each round of export controls from China makes the case for it stronger. asia.nikkei.com/economy/chin…

Can you imagine a 2-hour conversation between a VC and an AI researcher on AI and LLMs entirely in Sanskrit?
We just recorded one.
Could this be the world's first technical podcast in Sanskrit?
Can't wait to share it. Here is a raw glimpse

THREAD:
Across Europe and beyond, a fresh wave of street mobilizations is being read by some observers as the latest chapter in a resurgent global contest between left and right.
- In France, high-school blockades over teacher shortages, overcrowded classrooms and crumbling buildings have drawn in major unions and the far-left La France Insoumise, with marches swelling into broader cost-of-living actions.
- In Spain, tenants’ unions and labor federations (CCOO and UGT) have driven nationwide protests against soaring rents and evictions, culminating in a snap election.
- In Belgium, the socialist and Christian unions have led anti-austerity marches, joined by students protesting education costs in a movement explicitly influenced by events across the border.
- In India, the Gen Z-led Cockroach Janta Party has partnered with left student organizations such as AISA and SFI have found street mobilisation opportunities manufacturing public concerns over electoral rolls and earlier exam irregularities.
What unites these episodes is the organizational weight of left-leaning unions, student federations and parties that have supplied structure, framing and political grammar to ever present general grievances rooted in education quality, public-service strains and youth economic insecurity.
Interestingly, a Fox News investigation has observed that a transnational network of communist and socialist groups, amplified by media outlets linked to Shanghai-based financier Neville Roy Singham, has helped project the French protests internationally.
We investigated and discovered the same pattern in India.

Allen Park, the “controversial” Durga pujo at Park Street, the first time it is being held on the iconic street, was something else.
A full production, with lights and thumping music (Aghori Tandav) and Aghoris, this was light years away from any other pandal I have ever seen (and I have seen a few).
I can understand why the Bengalis who speak Bengali with an affected Bengali and miss Mamata Banerjee’s poems and art are outraged.
This isn’t the shehnai playing “sad pujo” about the ephemeral nature of happiness and life.
This isn’t the “amar poojar phool bhalobasha” Kishore Kumar love song of eyes meeting across pandal.
This is about religion. And this is about war.
Which is what Durga pujo really is.
Gods put aside their differences to together create the ultimate war machine, Ma Durga, to face off against the ultimate evil, a shapeshifting demon.
This is a Pujo about identity. Reclaiming it.

His work was funded by Ford Foundation and McArthur Foundation. How many million years would it take to those "100 workers" to match billionaires like Henry Ford and John McArthur? Or is this calculation meant only for the non-white billionaires? Saving Indian souls - backed by western business - is a very old game.....

Not me. My bullish stand in India is paying off. And India‘s comeback is not so „quiet“ given that India is about to reach a deal with the US, has signed FTA with the EU, stabilized the relationship with China and is expanding ties with Russia.
No other actor has managed that.
Everyone is watching the Asian tech meltdown. Almost nobody is watching what's happening in India.

This is a Regime Change Operation - make no mistake about it,
It’s not through the classic methodology of a coup (by army, police or civilians) to displace a PM.
Rather, it’s through orchestrating the breakup of the coalition government.
Let’s not forget - BJP does not have full majority on its own. Coalitions often break.
#WATCH | Mumbai, Maharashtra | On ‘Leave India Notice' to actor Imran Khan days after his participation in anti-CEC protest, Actor Raza Murad says, "Whether it is Imran Khan or anyone else, no foreign national has any business interfering in the internal affairs of our country. I have only just learned that Imran Khan has become a U.S. national; he was an actor here. As a U.S. national, he has no right to participate so actively in the country’s internal affairs or its politics. The Mumbai Police are acting strictly within the legal framework... He have been given a full fifteen days. If he feels he is being treated unfairly or being forced to leave the country, he is welcome to approach the court, and whatever the court decides, we must all accept it... Let's see how he reacts. He has two options: either leave the country by October 28, or if he does not wish to leave, or feels that he has been wronged or treated unjustly, he can take his grievance to the court..."
