So indpendent pharmacies that supported #PBMReform over the summer received "an unsual surge" in audits after a summer session markup of the Pharmacists Fight Back Act. Interesting. Rep. Comer is asking questions. Hopefully he gets answers. | @FierceHealth

#PBM policy gets complicated fast. Pharmacists can explain what it means in the real world.
Iowa Rep. Brett Barker, PharmD, discusses how pharmacists helped shape SF 383 and what other states can learn from Iowa.

The House wraps up its week this afternoon before representatives head home for Labor Day.
If your representative has not cosponsored H.R. 6610, now is the time to call their Washington office and ask them to sign on.
Help protect patients’ access to the local pharmacies they trust and rely on.

This independent pharmacy in Missouri was in business for 185 years. And low reimbursements from #PBMs killed it. This theme is repeated in every article about an independent pharmacy closing. | @FayettePaper

Congress is back in Washington this week. Let’s make sure representatives hear from independent pharmacy before they leave Friday.
Ask your representative to cosponsor H.R. 6610 and help protect patients’ access to the local pharmacies they trust and rely on.

There is no clear definition of what makes a drug a "specialty" drug. That can be troublesome when specialty drugs are used to exclude pharmacies from providing care for patients.

"If I were the federal government, if I were DHA, if I were any one of Express Scripts' commercial clients, I would be running to an auditor..."

A TRICARE audit should examine Express Scripts’ contracts, reimbursement, pricing, offsets, fees, discounts, mail-order practices, and the accuracy of information reported to the Department of Defense. Click the link for more on the Senate Committee hearing.

This new federal #PBMReform bill would ban #PBMs from owning a pharmacy across the country. It has bipartisan support. | @RepAuchincloss

$615,000,000
That’s how much a federal audit says #PBMs overcharged a government health program.
And this happened under a “transparent” model.
Reform isn’t optional anymore.

Who exactly is going to cut their prices ? Independent physicians can barely pay their bills. DPC is already a bargain. Hospitals are going to get rid of facility fees or walk away from keeping 340b margins and passing that to the patient ? No.
Big PBMs are going to stop charging fees ? No. Big insurers are going to stop gaming vertical integration transfers ? No
Break up the big insurance companies first. Make them divest each vertical , PBMs, Providers, ASOs , Digital They are the ATT1984 of 2026.
Break them up.
They have become Too Big To Care
.@PBS @NewsHour: “Ge Bai, Johns Hopkins University:
Health care relates to our life, right? But it's a business for everybody else.
Many people believe health care is a right. That is fundamentally wrong. Health care is a commodity.
Once the patients control their $, all the providers have to compete to make patients happy. So that will change all the incentives on market.
You're going to see price collapse everywhere.”

Behind the curtain, PBMs are pulling the strings.
Secret markups. Hidden rebates. Steering patients into their own networks. These practices inflate drug costs, limit choice, and push local pharmacies out of business.
Patients deserve transparency. Pharmacies deserve fairness. Communities deserve a healthcare system that puts health before profit 💡
It is time to pull back the curtain and demand accountability. Reform cannot wait.

What if you paid $15 for bread, $25 for milk, or $40 for cereal? Crazy, right? That is exactly what PBM pricing feels like when patients try to get their medications.
Instead of lowering costs, PBMs inflate them; pocketing the difference while patients struggle and independent pharmacies are forced out. Families make painful choices, and communities lose trusted providers.
Reform is the only way to make drug pricing fair, transparent, and patient-centered 💡
