It would be good if Assyrian media platforms and political parties stop sharing the annual and generic statements issued by various Barzanis on Simele until that mafia explicitly acknowledge the role that Kurdish tribes played during the massacre.

Replying to @POTUS
@POTUS’s new paradigm of Middle East nation states connectivity alliances paired with Iraq’s young, bold, and visionary PM @alZaidi, is charting a transformative corridor across Mesopotamia, the Levant, Türkiye, and the Gulf—rendering the Strait of Hormuz far less consequential very soon.
U.S. powerhouse companies, with ~$1T in market cap firepower, are leading the diplomacy and investment as the on-ramp to clarity and opportunity from what once looked like chaos.
A new paradigm is afoot.

Under @POTUS’s bold leadership, today’s meeting with Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi marks a turning point. The future of the U.S.-Iraq relationship lies in investment, trade, and economic opportunity—not just security. At the heart of the Middle East, Iraq is uniquely positioned to connect the region through deeper integration with the GCC, Türkiye, Syria, Jordan, Central Asia, the Balkans, and the Caucuses. New pipelines for energy, new roads to progress. A more prosperous Iraq means a more stable region—and exclusive opportunities for American business.

Why is it so controversial that Assyrians in the KRG want their property rights enforced?
All over Kurdish X, Assyrians are being accused of pushing a foreign campaign against Kurds.
Assyrians have been documenting land theft for three decades.

KRG closed off the roads to protestors from various regions in the KRG so that they would not be able to participate in the Dohuk protests.
This was, of course, a coordinated effort on the part of the KRG police force to minimize the number of attendees from participating in front of the Dohuk Governorate office.
An image of the late Mukhtar of Rabatke village in the Nahla Valley, Zaya Barjam Khoshaba, was held by Assyrian protesters in Nohadra. He was an honourable man who refused to accept encroachments on his land and stood up to the aggressors. He was later assaulted by KDP security personnel, and the incident went unpunished.
His image serves as a reminder of the injustices our people face on their own lands.

Kurdistan's Largest Archaeological Park to Open in Duhok This October
The Jerwan-Faida Archaeological Park, the largest archaeological park in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, is set to open this October, unveiling some of the world's most remarkable Assyrian engineering and archaeological treasures.
Among its most astonishing discoveries are the 2,700-year-old Assyrian rock reliefs at Faida, which archaeologists have found were never intended to remain bare stone.
Traces of vibrant blue and red pigments reveal the monumental carvings were once brilliantly painted, transforming scholars' understanding of one of the ancient world's greatest monuments.

Dr Irving Finkel is one of the most renowned contemporary Assyriologists. In this interview with “The Ancients” podcast he explains that while cuneiform writing went extinct, the language of the Assyrians and Babylonians didn’t as it is still spoken by Assyrians in Northern Iraq.
Looks like they changed the models for the Assyrian samples from Nineveh dated to 612 BC.
"The best-fitting model for the Ninevites’ proximal ancestry suggests approximately 80% contribution from Iraq Late Bronze Age (Nemrik) and 20% from Bronze/Iron Age Armenia, indicating possible genetic contribution from the territory of Urartu. Initial results also indicate varying degrees of genetic affinity with contemporary populations from the region, including modern-day Assyrians."

CONTEXT: Turning schools into centers of PKK propaganda.
A look inside the Kurdish textbooks rejected by Assyrian schools in northeast Syria.
The Kurdish YPG/PYD, which until recently effectively ruled northeast Syria, tried for years to force its own textbooks on Assyrian schools in the region.
The YPG/PYD claimed its new textbooks aim to undo decades of Arabization, but a closer look reveals they merely replace it with Kurdification.
The textbooks promote a subtle Kurdish nationalist narrative that distorts the region’s history and glorifies the imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan.
One primary school textbook presents a revisionist version of Kurdish history, portraying the Kurdish tribes–whose Iranian origins and later migration into Mesopotamia are well documented–as the indigenous population of the region.
The chapter includes a fabricated map of a so-called historical Kurdish homeland with no basis in historical reality. In the same book, Assyria is reduced to a mere historical reference.
One textbook even includes a section titled “The Morality of Abdullah Öcalan,” presenting a terrorist leader responsible for tens of thousands of deaths, including Assyrians, as a moral hero for schoolchildren to look up to.

EXPOSING YPG/PKK PROPAGANDA AS IT UNFOLDS
As we have reported in previous posts, the YPG militia has deliberately entrenched itself in Assyrian villages and areas in northeast Syria, shelling SAA positions from these hideouts to provoke SAA counter-fire.
The goal is to exploit the SAA response in the propaganda war, portraying it as deliberate targeting of Assyrians, Christians, and churches.
We posted on 28 January about YPG shelling SAA positions from the town of Tell Tammer and surrounding Assyrian villages.
Kurdish news sources closely tied to PKK/YPG political and military structures have done exactly as predicted, as shown in screenshots from newly published pieces by ANHA (Hawar News Agency) and ANF News Agency. They framed the SAA counter-fire as an attack on Christians and a church.
Since the 1990s, the PKK and its affiliates have used this tactic, starting in southeast Turkey. The PKK would enter Assyrian villages, knowing the Turkish army would pursue them and impose curfews, bringing the war to Assyrian areas. This caused deaths, destruction, displacement, and exile for many Assyrians, emptying villages that Kurds later settled.
The PKK has employed the same approach in northern Iraq, entering Assyrian villages like those in the Nahla valley to make them targets of the Turkish air force, forcing many Assyrians to flee lands later taken over by Kurds.
These and other tactics used by the PKK and related Kurdish movements over decades have turned indigenous Assyrians into a minority on their own ancestral lands – lands now claimed as part of a Kurdish homeland.
President @realDonaldTrump was accurate in October 2019 when he described the PKK as "probably a bigger terrorist threat than ISIS":
“Now the PKK, which is part of the Kurds, as you know, is probably worse at terror, and more of a terrorist threat in many ways than ISIS… if you look at the Kurds, and again I say this with great respect, they’re no angels.”

DEVELOPING
Successive explosions in Tall Tamer and its Assyrian countryside – Assyrian church hit.
Violent clashes between SAA and Arab tribal forces against YPG in the countryside of Tal Tamer this evening.
SAA artillery targeting SDF positions hit the village of al-Ghebesh, as well as the Assyrian Mar Shmouni Church in the village of Tel Jamaah.
Assyrian sources report further that the YPG targeted the Al-Gharra area in the countryside of Jabal Abdul Aziz, as well as SAA positions in Ras al-Ayn, with a rocket artillery truck positioned in the village of Al-Aghibish in the countryside of Tal Tamer.
The Syrian Arab Army then targeted the YPG with heavy artillery shelling that, in the villages of Al-Aghibish (al-Ghebesh), Al-Dardara, and Tel Jamaah, in addition to SDF fortifications at the "cattle station" in the vicinity of Tal Tamer.
It being on the frontline, the YPG is heavily deployed in the Tel Tammer disrict, establishing mortar and artillery positions at strategic and elevated points, including the villages of Dardara, Ain al-Abd al-Hamra, Tell Shanan, Tell Nasri, Tell Maghas, and the entrance to the village of Tell Juma, extending to the placement of mortar and artillery positions in the center of the town of Tell Tamer.
Meanwhile, "Tell al-Hamma" (formerly the water company) in the village of al-Rakba constitutes the YPG's largest military stronghold in the district, in which it has tanks, heavy artillery, and a complex network of tunnels deep within the hill, exploiting its strategic location overlooking all of Tell Tamer and its surrounding countryside.
Just as expected, the YPG is intentionally firing from Assyrian villages to make the SAA respond and then frame the response as an attack against "Christians". It is a common tactic used by the PKK in Turkey, Iraq and now Syria.
