Ginkgo's first autonomous lab sale to a top-tier pharma (Novo) is the real signal, more than any single Q3 line.
Pharma buying the robot fleet for its own site means the bottleneck moved from 'can AI design it' to 'who runs the verification loop in-house'.
@Ginkgo how much of the installed lab's run volume is agent-ordered vs scientist-ordered in year one? Would you like to try more vendors for multiple tasks? teapaw.org/Ginkgo/status/21187234…
Yesterday, we reported our Q3 2026 earnings. @jrkelly spoke about our first autonomous lab sale to a top-tier pharma company, Novo; how quickly our autonomous labs can grow once they’re installed; and why frontier AI labs are turning to Cloud Lab for biological data.
Here’s a clip of him describing how customers can add a new instrument to a Ginkgo autonomous lab in less than a day, much like setting a new piece of equipment on a bench in a manual lab.

==========

On Sep 24, I wrote that $DNA was the single most undervalued bio x AI stock.
That has proven 100% correct. $DNA has outperformed other bio x AI stocks by an enormous margin since.
Despite insane volatility, from 9/24 to 11/6, DNA returned +32.6%. That is alpha.
You cannot say this move was merely beta. $SPY and $QQQ are both negative over the same time period.
You cannot say this was just a factor move. $ARKG, $TWST, $TXG are all negative over the same period.
You cannot say this was a pure meme pump with no backing in fundamentals. $DNA already reported earnings this week and showed real seeds of a turnaround. They went through the pressure cooker of earnings where memes die, and they passed, whereas many other bio x ai stocks did not survive.
You can only say that metavestor provided you with pure alpha. I was the first to make a fundamental case for this stock, seeing the diamond in the rough, and it has outperformed the supposedly "higher quality" stocks in the space.
What's next? Job's not done. I wrote that this was a multibagger and still believe it just as strongly.
Caveats: the stock overheated in October ahead of schedule due to a bio x ai factor move, and these blowoffs generally take time to repair. I don't expect an immediate parabolic rise here. Going forward, I continue to recommend caution and significant hedges on any risk as overall market conditions look dismal, potentially for months.
But zoom out to a higher timeframe and the future is bright.
The multibagger case for Gingko Bioworks, $DNA, my highest conviction position

Congrats to @jkcla (Jason Kelly), Ena Cratsenburg and the @Ginkgo team on selling your first autonomous lab to a top-tier pharma. The lab is headed to Novo Nordisk's new R&D site in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Novo isn't just buying services from the lab. It's buying the lab itself. That's a meaningful step for AI-driven biology.
Ginkgo now describes two offerings built on one autonomous lab platform:
• Autonomous Labs: RAC and Catalyst systems sold to pharma, national labs, universities and the U.S. government
• Cloud Lab: experiments run on Nebula, which Ginkgo calls the world's largest autonomous lab, with more than 100 reconfigurable automation carts
The demand is showing up in the deals:
• 22 ADME customers signed in Q3, 20 of them first-time Ginkgo customers
• Takeda, Argenx, Lundbeck and AbbVie founded the Antibody Developability Consortium
• An ARPA-H GIVE subcontract worth up to $17.5 million to bring autonomous systems into RNA medicine manufacturing
• Ginkgo providing Nebula access to the NSF's $1.5 billion X-Labs initiative
Autonomous labs are starting to look like national research infrastructure, not just a lab upgrade.
Ginkgo and Novo were both part of SynBioBeta 2026 in San Jose. Will Serber, Cynthia Collins and George Peabody from Ginkgo were on our speaker lineup, and Peter Clark of Novo Nordisk spoke as well.
Peter returns next May to speak on AIxBIO at SynBioBeta 2027 in San Jose. Jason and Ena, we'd love to see you there for the conversation.
