People are doing some crazy things to talk to AI, including wearing muzzles and inventing earbuds that can hear whispers. My latest YouTube feature on Silicon Valley’s quest to kill the keyboard!

Saw this guy whispering to his computer on my flight 🤨 how? @subtlecomputing
We’ve raised $1.3M from YC & Afore Capital so you never have to type or speak again. Typing is slow. Talking into your computer is awkward. Subvocal fixes both Our glasses give you the speed of speech without you making a sound or touching a keyboard. It tracks your internal speech muscles with non-contact sensing and decodes silent, almost invisible mouthing into text at more than 200 words/min. Pre-orders are now live at: subvocal.co/preorder?utm_sou…

Over the next decade, our devices + spaces will need to adapt to a voice-controlled world This is an opportunity for new hardware / products, and for legacy ones to generate more value An office built around people talking to computers will look different than one for typing

#ces2026 Report 8: Just had a demo of these. Most interesting new headphones I have seen in years. You can talk to AI with them at quieter than whisper level. @TylerNChen is standing next to me. I can’t hear what he is saying but his phone does.
Introducing the first subtle computing interface, Voicebuds. A device that hears only you, even at your quietest. Available for preorder now.

We've spent two years training voice ML models to pick up just your voice, even below a whisper. Excited to announce Subtle Voicebuds, which embed our models to create a private voice computing interface. A device that works where voice has always failed.

If I hit this dictation button after sending a text and it beeps and stops my music one more time, I’m gonna find everyone at apple and put them in a rear naked choke hold Even if I turn off dictation I somehow hit the voice note thing The send button should not have multiple functions in the same spot

The Boaty McBoatface of walls 👏
Wally Wallington claims he demonstrated how a single person can manipulate massive monoliths, or how they could have been moved in ancient times. He claims that a pyramid could be completed using primitive tools in 25-year with only 520 workers.

Excited to finally announce Subtle Computing! We're building a new class of voice interfaces to make voice computing work where it's never worked before. Our first product arrives early 2026. A step towards a future where we look up at one another, not down at our phones.

This isn’t the whole story, though. If we break down the results by the portion of respondents who aren’t using each particular modality, we see an interesting pattern: a lot of folks (37%) who aren’t currently using audio do plan to use it in the future. Audio is the future!
