As preparations for the 2027 general elections continue, access to reliable election data will be important for monitoring the process, verifying results and strengthening public trust.
Yesterday in Abuja, we joined our consortium partners, @Dataphytefdn, @YIAGA, the @CJIDAfrica, and @DEANinitiative, to launch the Nigeria Election Data Observatory (NEDO) and its civic technology app.
The consortium plans to deploy over 4,000 election observers for the 2027 general elections to document the electoral process and gather data for independent monitoring.
We presented Civic Hive’s liveresults.civichive.org, which uses interactive maps to help citizens access election results and examine them across states.
We are excited to work with our partners through NEDO as we continue to support access to election information and strengthen transparency and accountability ahead of the 2027 elections.

Dear Gov. @jidesanwoolu and @HonSeyiJakande, Ojuwoye Nursery and Primary School (Special), Mushin, urgently needs government intervention!
From dilapidated facilities and inadequate security to staff shortages, lack of medical personnel, a school bus, and sign language interpreters, these children need urgent support.
The time for @followlasg to act is now. Children with special educational needs deserve safety, dignity, and quality education not neglect.
Their needs cannot wait. No child should be left behind!

Engr @DaveUmahi and Gov @HyacinthAlia, Benue people deserve better!
The Adikpo–Ushongo–Ugbema Junction Road in Benue State has remained in a terrible condition for over two years, subjecting residents, commuters, and businesses to avoidable hardship.
This is unacceptable! How long must communities endure economic losses, difficult journeys, and poor access to essential services while this road remains neglected?
We call on the @FMWNIG and @benuestategovt to urgently inspect the road, and ensure immediate, effective rehabilitation.

Dear Gov @jidesanwoolu and @HonSeyiJakande, we call for your urgent intervention on the deplorable condition of the Idi Oro-Mushin Road in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Lagos State, where the other lane has remained in a terrible state for over three years.
The road is riddled with potholes, broken surfaces, stagnant pools of water, and heaps of refuse dumped along different sections. What should be a functional road serving residents, commuters and businesses has become a source of daily hardship, with serious implications for road safety, public health and economic activity.
For over three years, motorists have had to navigate this deteriorated stretch, exposing their vehicles to damage, increasing maintenance costs and contributing to traffic congestion as drivers struggle to manoeuvre around damaged sections and waterlogged areas. Pedestrians are equally affected, forced to navigate unsafe, muddy and refuse-strewn surroundings.
Beyond the damaged road surface, the persistent accumulation of refuse presents another serious concern. Different sections of the road have been turned into dumpsites, with waste left uncleared for weeks. Such conditions create an unsightly and unhealthy environment, potentially attracting pests, obstructing drainage channels, and worsening flooding risks during rainfall. The stagnant water and accumulated waste also raise concerns about sanitation and exposure to environmental health hazards.
This is not merely an inconvenience; it is a public infrastructure and accountability concern. Residents deserve roads that are safe and passable, while businesses and commuters should not have to bear the consequences of prolonged neglect. Three years is far too long for a critical road corridor to remain in such a condition without a lasting solution.
We call for urgent action and a public commitment to fixing the Idi Oro-Mushin Road. Lagos residents deserve functional infrastructure, a clean environment, and public services that work for everyone.

We paid a monitoring visit to Wayo Mati PHC, Wamba LGA Nasarawa State.
Condition at the time of tracking: Wall cracks, maternity ward leakages, broken toilet in the labor room, a damaged incinerator, a faulty gate, a damaged water tank, and a broken roof.
Population target: This is the sole government health facility serving over 3000 residents, with a patient inflow of about 816.
We implore the @NphcdaNG, @NasarawaGovt, to facilitate the immediate renovation and staffing of this facility.

A government contract has been awarded, but the real test is whether the work gets done as promised.
Throughout this series, we’ve explored the Public Procurement Act and the rules that guide government contracts. In this final episode, we look at what happens after a contract is awarded, the responsibilities of government institutions and contractors, and how the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and citizens can help ensure projects are properly executed.
That road should be built to the agreed standard. That school should be completed. The equipment promised to a health centre should be delivered.
Public money is meant to serve the public, and citizens have a right to check what was promised, what was delivered and whether the work meets the required standard.
A contract being awarded doesn’t always mean the job is done, or done well. Catch the final episode of our public procurement series.

🚨 N59.47M PAID, YET KUNGANA BRIDGE REMAINS ABANDONED!
Dear Engr. David Umahi and Governor Agbu Kefas, we urge you to intervene urgently!
On 8 September 2024, N59.47million was paid to Shazumami Nigeria Ltd for the repair of Kungana Bridge along the Bali-Mararaba Road in Taraba State. However, our monitoring visit in September 2026 found the project abandoned for over a year, forcing motorists to use a narrow, potentially dangerous passage.
Where is the work? What explains the prolonged delay? And when will the bridge be completed?
As a project under the @FMWNIG, the public deserves clear answers and urgent action. Road users should not continue to bear the risks and inconvenience while a publicly funded project remains unfinished.
We call on the relevant authorities to explain the delay, provide a definite completion timeline, and ensure the bridge is restored to safe use.

Over 2,000 people depend on Ukwunwangwu PHC in Isuikwuato LGA, Abia State, yet the facility lacks water, electricity, and essential medical equipment 🤔
@alexottiofr, urgent intervention is needed to restore safe, functional healthcare for this community!
Healthcare is a right!
Replying to @abiastategov
@abiastategov, can Ukwunwangwu PHC continue to serve a community in this condition?
At Ukwunwangwu Primary Health Centre in Isuikwuato LGA, Abia State, the building is worn out, the ceiling is damaged, and the facility has no water, electricity or medical equipment. Even more concerning, it has no functional indoor toilet, leaving residents dependent on outside toilets.
This is a primary healthcare facility that the over 2000 people in the community depend on, yet the basic conditions required to deliver safe and dignified healthcare are missing.
Governor @alexottiofr and Hon. Chinedu Ekeķe, this demands your urgent attention.
We call on the Abia State Government and the relevant health authorities to urgently assess this facility, rehabilitate the building, provide water and electricity, equip it with essential medical supplies, and ensure access to proper sanitation.
Residents of Ukwunwangwu deserve access to safe and functional primary healthcare close to home. They should not have to contend with a dilapidated facility when seeking medical attention.
Healthcare is a basic necessity, not a privilege. Ukwunwangwu PHC must not be left behind. Governor, please act urgently!

Governor @CCSoludo, and Anambra State Ministry of Works, look at the condition of Atani road in Ogbaru LGA!
What should be a vital economic corridor is now a muddy nightmare, riddled with potholes and pools of stagnant water. The Afia Idemili Market and Obodoukwu sections have deteriorated since 2025, and every rainfall makes the situation worse.
Traders, commuters, transporters and companies that depend on this road to move goods are bearing the brunt of this neglect. Movement is becoming increasingly difficult, while businesses and livelihoods are put at risk.
Must residents and businesses continue to suffer before action is taken?
We demand an urgent intervention, proper drainage and lasting rehabilitation of the affected sections.
Governor @CCSoludo and the Ministry of Works, the evidence is right before us. Ogbaru cannot afford to wait any longer. FIX ATANI ROAD NOW!
