Important info for NC voters
If you are one of 107,337 voters with an unvoted NC absentee ballot, make sure when you return it that the inner envelope is sealed and you have it properly witnessed. IMHO if you are using USPS, I STRONGLY suggest mailing by MONDAY OCT 26. Alternatively, you can return it in person during business hours to your county board of elections thru Nov 3, physical addresses at vt.ncsbe.gov/BOEInfo/, or return it at any early voting site thru Oct 31. #ncpol

Five-alarm fire continues.
I remain hopeful that people are going to wake up.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.
The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.
Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.
Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.

Rarely do I whine "Why isn't this a bigger story?" But this qualifies. Have any NC Republicans spoken up? Will no one to stand up to the president?
Budd was there. Whatley was there. Buckout was there. It's Murphy's district. What about NCGA leaders?
Does no Republican care?
Ten chihuahuas were rescued from a Wake County home in what a nonprofit animal rescue is calling the largest single day intake in its history.

Trump: "I alone could secure a prisoner release from Russia without giving anything in return"
Trump literally ten minutes later: "Now you idiots know why I had to waive sanctions on Russia, no shot I got that prisoner release otherwise"

Why are Camp Lejeune survivors being told to wait until after the midterms for justice? Republicans already control the White House, House, and Senate.
@realDonaldTrump, stop making promises conditional on election results. Settle the claims and pay the families. Now.

“Raise hell. Praise Dale” is not an appropriate response when we ask you why you were speeding.
Reading this was exhausting! His stream of consciousness has more changes in direction than a ball on a Plinko board.
I recommend people read Time's interview with Trump to get a sense of the president's grave cognitive impairment. Trump is either unwilling or unable (or maybe both) to answer the questions he's actually asked, so he just rants and raves while the interviewers do their best to provide structure to his random brain firings. time.com/article/2026/10/01/…

There are a lot of people who truly and sincerely believe the (heavily disputed) claim from @whatleync that former Governor Cooper was somehow involved in releasing thousands of violent criminals into the public.
So you might ask: if really were true, wouldn't Republicans in the state legislature - who loathe Cooper - be chomping at the bit to uncover The Truth and make it all public?
Probably. And yet, the special committee Republican leaders formed to investigate and "hold accountable" former Governor Cooper over the 2021 prison settlement has done... nothing.
In July, the committee co-chair, Republican Majority Leader @brendenjonesnc - hardly a Cooper fan - scheduled and then quickly canceled a meeting with the leaders of the Department of Adult Corrections. But besides that, the committee has not even met once.
Why? Because if the committee met and heard evidence, it would publicly vindicate Roy Cooper and demolish the Whatley campaign's central claim.
Every credible news outlet in North Carolina has unanimously rejected the claim as absurd. It's pure fiction. Of course, political campaigns are allowed to peddle fiction, and lying in politics is hardly new.
But because it's fiction, having a legislative committee publicly investigating the claim would be very unhelpful to Whatley's campaign - so they've put it on ice.

Before calling someone a “dirtbag,” the Senator should have had his facts straight. An apology is in order.

I want to buy a father/daughter duo tickets to a college football or NFL game in advance of my dad’s first heavenly birthday. Tell me about your dad or your daughter, which game you want to go to and I’ll pick someone this week for a game in October.

Heads up: We’re seeing a new scam targeting victims of domestic violence.
Scammers search court filings, then call victims of domestic violence and pretend to be law enforcement or court officials. They use details from the case to sound legitimate.
Then they ask for money, claiming they'll keep the victim safe by getting a court order or electronic monitoring for the abuser.
It’s a scam.
No law enforcement or court official will call you and demand money as part of a domestic violence case. Hang up and call law enforcement.
And if you’re a victim of abuse, here is a list of organizations across North Carolina that can actually help: doa.nc.gov/divisions/women-y…
