All republican candidates only took covefe orders and Trump didn’t actually know them and had nothing to do with the election.

😂 the low key shade on this thread is 🤌 but as always also full of great information about the details of men’s fashion.
The Senate race between Jon Ossoff and Mike Collins gives us good material to illustrate two common problems with men's trousers, which most people miss when shopping. Let me show you. 🧵

In B.C. we are now going to see 2 years of extreme rollback, screw everyone that isn’t rich policy before a bunch of mediocre policy announcements à la Ford. Thanks a lot @Dave_Eby

This is such a great point.
.@JamesTalarico’s message to Gen Z: “You may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you. Your boss cares about politics. Your landlord cares about politics. Your insurance company cares about politics. And until you care about politics, they're gonna keep using the political system to screw you over.”

This is another reason why having both elections at the same time is problematic. People are casting votes without knowing how the next council would plan to use these new powers. #SurreyBC

I did an event in Kelowna on Saturday and there was a lot of talk about involuntary care so I wrote this last night Here's my question to every politician pushing involuntary treatment: If you genuinely want people to recover, why are you more focused on forcing them into treatment than addressing the conditions that make recovery so difficult in the first place? I'm not speaking from a textbook or a political talking point. I'm speaking from lived experience. I've lived through homelessness, poverty, trauma, mental health struggles, addiction and systems that were supposed to help but too often failed. I know firsthand that you cannot simply force someone to want a different life, and I know how difficult it is to move forward when you're struggling just to survive. You cannot force someone into stability. You have to create the conditions that make stability possible. Where are your guarantees of safe, affordable housing? Where are the meaningful employment opportunities? Where is the accessible counselling, mental health care and long-term support? Treatment doesn't erase poverty, It doesn't put a roof over someone's head, it doesn't magically create employment, heal trauma or give someone a sense of purpose. And sending someone back into the same circumstances that contributed to their struggles isn't a plan for lasting recovery, it's actually insanity. So here's my challenge to every politician advocating involuntary treatment: Before you tell the public how many people you want to force into treatment, tell us how many people you're willing to help build a future for. How many homes will you provide? How many employment opportunities will you create? What long-term support will you guarantee? And most importantly, have you actually listened to the people who have lived through what you're making policies about? Because the DATA doesn't support success from forcing people. They need dignity, they need choices, they need stability, they need hope, and they need a genuine opportunity to build a better life. Stop asking how to force people into recovery. Start asking what you're doing to make recovery possible. Are you trying to change people's lives, or just remove the visible evidence of the problems you've failed to address?

Pointing out teachers are overworked and undervalued when you handle their funding is an interesting approach in the middle of an unpopular snap election.
On World Teachers' Day, New Democrats are proud to stand with the educators who show up every day to give students the support, opportunity and care they deserve. Teachers across Canada are overworked and undervalued, too often forced to battle austerity agendas that keep our classrooms underfunded and their labour taken for granted. Educators know the importance of public education, and they’re on the front lines of fighting for a system that allows everyone to thrive — teachers, students and families alike. To every teacher, thank you for the tireless work you do each and every day. Through it all, New Democrats have your back. ✊

The amount of hate in the comments here is atrocious. Making a comment trying to be as unbiased as possible should not generate that much hate. And if you think it was directed towards your candidate? She did not name anyone. So their stance proves the point.
I do not interfere in provincial or municipal politics. But I feel I must speak out against the homophobic comments made by some provincial candidates. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the equal rights of all Canadians to live free from hate. Someone who is seeking to represent all British Columbians should first adhere to the rule of law and support the equal protection of all people from hate and violence.

Long shot here but wondering if any of the #SurreyBC candidates for mayor council or school board would be willing to have a chat about the policies and proposals they are running on. Beyond the big grandiose pipe dreams. @MikeStarchuk @LindaAnnisBC @brendalockebc Doug
