it's been so long since a new model has been released that people have reverted to talking about javascript frameworks and state management
this is refreshing to see

I'm surprised at how much thought designing a beautiful SDK requires
The same amount of effort you can put into design can also be applied into developing an SDK
It's not for the faint hearted

Do you still remember story points?
Such a joke. Devs have hard time estimating schedules, so let’s use an imaginary unit that makes it even harder :)
no software engineer would say this, yeah you are not a software engineer.

Replying to @jarredsumner
Security through obscurity is not a solution. It’s better to have a vulnerability found, than have one replicated without even knowing it exists.
The only measure we have is that more code = more vulnerabilities. I have yet to believe that LLM can write code without them (kinda have the opposite experience).
Hardened code has a lot of scars and it’s much safer.
Projects with good threat models that triage vulnerabilities protect everyone.

We sacrificed function in favor of form, forgetting that good software must solve the user's problem and be invisible while doing so.

the more i code with LLMs, the more i feel the urge to go back to fundamentals and understand things as deeply as possible.

I think we're about to see a lot of people learn why software engineers were paid so much
