What a surprise. Guess what BC, this means they are going to say the budget is too messed to keep their campaign promises.
.@LDoerkson said today interest payments are "choking the economy" & commits to an independent investigation into BC's finances. Said the $1B accounting error by the @bcndp has him "terrified" at what else they might discover.

Some of the worst goalkeeping I’ve ever seen. Forget golden glove…now he’s a Ballon d’Or winner. Never give up on your dream, kids.
As a longtime Illustrator (and Figma etc) user I'm not sure if this would be awesome or frustrating but I would give it a try for sure.
I guess it’s not a terrible deal if it lasts even ten years, but without a lifetime guarantee you start to think about how it’s like 1/2 to 1/3 the price of a similar Rimowa carry on, which will last longer than your life will…

🇨🇦 ON THIS DAY IN CANADIAN SPORTS HISTORY
🏎️ OCTOBER 26, 1997 — JACQUES VILLENEUVE BECOMES FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPION!
A Canadian flag. A world championship. And one of the most dramatic title deciders in Formula One history! 🇨🇦
On this day in 1997, Jacques Villeneuve of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, captured the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship at the European Grand Prix in Jerez, Spain.
Driving his Williams-Renault FW19, the 26-year-old Canadian entered the final race of the season just one point behind Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher.
The championship was on the line, and the tension couldn’t have been greater.
In qualifying, Villeneuve, Schumacher, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen astonishingly recorded identical fastest lap times, down to the thousandth of a second! Villeneuve secured pole position because he had set the time first.
During the race, Schumacher led, with Villeneuve pursuing him relentlessly.
Then came the defining moment.
On lap 48, Villeneuve attempted to pass Schumacher at the Dry Sac corner. The two cars collided as Schumacher turned into the Williams.
Schumacher slid into the gravel and retired. Villeneuve continued, his car damaged but still running.
Knowing he needed only to finish in the points, Villeneuve eventually crossed the line in third place, behind Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard.
Jacques Villeneuve was the 1997 Formula One World Champion!
The achievement was historic.
Villeneuve became the first Canadian to win the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship, accomplishing what his legendary father, Gilles Villeneuve, had never quite achieved before his tragic death in 1982.
Even more remarkably, Jacques had won the Indianapolis 500 and CART championship in 1995, before conquering Formula One in only his second season.
That afternoon in Spain, a young Canadian stood proudly before an enormous maple leaf, his fists raised in triumph.
Canada had a Formula One World Champion.
And 29 years later, Jacques Villeneuve remains the only Canadian ever to win the title.

Some of these I didn’t know and make me quite angry. BC Premier-elect Doerkson better not try to bring them in or that party will be toast in the next election. Eliminate National Day of Truth and Reconciliation? Proposed Freedom Convoy Recognition Day? Excuse me??

Very much a “the conservatives didn’t win this, the NDP lost it” election.

Recalling him and sending him Championship is better for his development but letting him piss all over the MLS is better for the timeline. #ffc

Anyone trying to analyze the BC election result as "the first Conservative win in 98 years" can safely be disregarded as not knowing anything about BC politics lol
If Mark Carney is so popular how did Conservatives win in B.C.? They haven’t won in 98 years. And it’s a supermajority at that.
And Conservatives also just won 19 seats in the Quebec election. They haven’t won a seat in that legislature in 91 years.
Liberal supporters have convinced themselves that the ridings of the 5 CPC floor-crossers are now Liberal strongholds.
They have everything to lose during the next election and they are lashing out right now on this platform.

Conservatives have governed BC under the names “Social Credit” and “BC Liberals” for 52 of the last 74 years. Uninformed people should stop portraying this as the first time BC has had a right wing govt in 100 years.
