Gas prices and the threat to democracy are certainly not of equal and paramount importance. Anyone attempting to make them the same is aiding, enabling those promoting fascism. Damn shame!!! Good lord people get a grip. #SaveDemocracy or else!

Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."

For a TL cleanse, I took the boat home today, so I walked from 74th Street straight down First Avenue to the 35th Street docks, which gave me a chance to get this perfect square-on iPhone photo of the United Nations. Tap for full size. I hope you have had a great day!

This is an inconceivable amount of money.
This money could make the lives of Americans vastly better—save countless lives. Instead it’s building enormous money furnaces that regurgitate our old ideas back to us in the project to take all our jobs.
It’s an immense moral crime.
Never.

Americans are indicating that they severely dislike his policies. Trump has decided that the only way he can win elections now is by cheating, lying and ripping apart democracy. Are we sure Trump has a U.S. Passport? Sure don't seem like it.

I used to work for Billy Walters and when this all happened and again after he was released. Rumor was that Phil recorded the call and also other occasions wore a wire. Phil had gotten in trouble with the IRS. I’ve met Billy multiple times during his visits. He was also so kind to everyone and he didn’t put on airs either. You wouldn’t know it was him, you couldn’t have guessed it either.
This story is actually a really sad story of betrayal. They were friends, not just 2 people who knew each other. Phil betrayed him to save himself. I’ve never forgiven him and want to spit at the tv each time I see him. Mr. Walters was always so good to his employees and even to this day, we respect him.

From someone who literally wrote the book Billy is one thousand percent correct.
Phil Mickelson owed money to his Las Vegas gambling buddy, Billy Walters. Billy gave him a secret stock tip, Phil made $931,000 in a week and paid him back. Billy went to prison for 5 years. Phil was never charged.
When Billy got out, he wrote a book about Phil.
More than $1 billion in bets, by Billy's count.
In the video below, Billy tells ESPN what would have kept him out of prison.
Billy spent decades as one of the biggest sports bettors in America. Phil was his golf partner, his friend and a man who owed him money.
July 2012. Phil owes Billy gambling money. Billy calls him and tells him to buy Dean Foods.
Billy's information came from a Dean Foods board member. He owed Billy money too.
A week later, the stock jumped 40%. Phil sold with more than $931,000 in profit. In September, he paid Billy back, partly with that money.
The money went in a circle. Only one man went to prison.
In 2016, the SEC named Phil a "relief defendant." That means he wasn't accused of anything, but he was holding money that wasn't his to keep. He paid back $1,037,029 and never admitted or denied a thing.
In 2017, Billy was convicted and got 5 years. Phil never testified.
"All Phil had to do was publicly say it. He refused," Billy wrote.
While Billy was inside, his daughter died. He wrote that he still believes he could have saved her if he'd been on the outside.
In 2023, his book came out. At least $1 billion wagered. At least $100 million lost. More than 1,115 bets over $100,000. Phil denied one claim: "I never bet on the Ryder Cup."
$931,000: what Phil made on the tip.
5 years: what Billy got.
$1 billion: what Billy says Phil bet.
Phil kept his silence, his career and a reported $200 million LIV deal.
Billy kept the receipts.
