New: I got a tip a little while ago about a shadowy Pentagon entity called "TSO" with a lot of money and a desire for offensive hacking tools. Turns out TSO is a new DoD agency. And it does a lot more than hacking. w/@JackDetsch and @paulmcleary politico.com/news/2026/10/22…

The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…

I built a Photoshop-like image editor. It’s called Compositor. robbietilton.com/compositor I originally built it for myself to get off my Adobe subscription, but decided to release it for free and make it open source. It has all the essential tools I need for compositing, with none of the BS. I know this workflow is kind of archaic in 2026, but I’m still using it until AI can actually get pixel-perfect on some of the details. The entire app is 12MB. Photoshop is 6,455MB on my machine.

Tired of seeing ā€œAsk Siriā€ on every menu? Here's how to disable it. In macOS 27, after enabling Siri AI, all context menus include a persistent ā€œAsk Siriā€ context menu item. Turns out you can actually disable it without turning off Siri AI. To disable, run the following commands in the Terminal app: codes=(soft apwn exit loca lock logo rlgo rcnt rrst rest rsdn shut slep spro syss) args=(-int 0) for code in "${codes[@]}"; do hex=$(printf %s "$code" | xxd -p -u) args+=(-int "$((16#$hex))") done defaults write -g NSAppleMenuAllowedItems -array "${args[@]}" and give your Mac a restart. --- NSAppleMenuAllowedItems controls which items are visible in the  menu. For some reason, Apple decided that macOS shouldn't insert ā€œAsk Siriā€ whenever the filter is active, even if nothing is actually disabled. The command allowlists all  menu items. It doesn't include "abtm" (About This Mac) because it is unconditionally visible in the current code. Re-enable with: defaults delete -g NSAppleMenuAllowedItems

"small potatoes"
JUST IN: President Trump agrees with VP JD Vance in refusing to call the months-long U.S. military action in Iran a war, instead calling it a "military conflict" and describing the whole thing as "small potatoes" to the United States. "Well, I'll tell you what. A lot of people don't call it a war. I call it a military conflict because it's small potatoes for us. It's not a big thing."

If anyone’s curious how a shortcut like this works, here’s mine. - It requires iOS 27 because a bunch of stuff changed. - It uses the cloud model because the on-device model is junk. - It uses a custom prompt and dumps the corrected, dictated text to a note. But you can send it anywhere else, including Obsidian. - Assign this shortcut to your action button or whatever and have fun! icloud.com/shortcuts/af094c2…

It's funny how people fret over agents now submitting pull requests to open source projects. Have you ever had to review code written by random strangers on the internet?! Frontier agents produce far less slop.
