America, more than any other nation in world history, was shaped by the Christian tradition of spreading the gospel unto all nations.

Not just strange, but impossible.
🇧🇷 New analysis of Brazil's presidential election finds @FlávioBolsonaro received ZERO votes in 106 ballot boxes where Lula collected 14,860 votes, according to Folha de S.Paulo.
Of those boxes, 65 were in northern Brazil and 29 in the northeast, with one location recording 354 votes for Lula and none for Bolsonaro.
Lula also flipped 211 cities that backed Bolsonaro in the 1st round of the election.

I have been to Brazil three times over the past ten years visiting my wife’s family, and I would say the blanket statement of this post is false. This all depends on where you are in São Paulo, which is a humongous city. Just like most places in the world, you need to use your best judgement, but the whole city is not like this. In fact, I felt safer in São Paulo at times than I did in Rio de Janeiro. Maybe this is why the comments are turned off.
I still have non-Brazilian friends who think São Paulo is fine to visit
We hired a great Uber driver to drive us to Florianopolis, like a 3 hour trip, cause was easier than flying then, very nice guy
While driving I sat in the back talking a bit with him and practicing my Portuguese
Then I noticed he didn't wear a seatbelt so I asked why
He said "so I can draw my gun quickly"
I said "desculpa the fuck what gun"
Then he showed he was wearing a holster on his right side with a gun it which he carried for safety because he said drive into and out of São Paulo often
So being a funny naive Dutch guy I asked "so did you ever kill someone?"
He said "yes I killed a guy last year who came at me and who tried steal my car in São Paulo"
And then he told me he was in a judicial trial about it and being prosecuted for it
I asked him again in the naive Dutch guy perspective "did you get like therapy after? like must be intense right, do you feel bad about that?
He said "no why? If I didn't kill him he would have killed me" ☠️
Foreigners especially Europeans have no clue how violent São Paulo and Rio are, it's just not in their mental framework to be able to understand the danger, Brazilians themselves are surprisingly honest and realistic about it
There a reason I stay the F out of São Paulo
I mpstly stick to South Brazil, it's safe, not as safe as Europe but mostly very safe and not really violent. The violence and crime there seems mostly isolated between gangs and in the few favelas there
About that too I asked Brazilians "why is South Brazil so safe?"
And they mostly agreed when a guy told me "because the police here shoot to kill" while in São Paulo and Rio the police is too scared to get prosecuted for killing people
I picked up all six of these today on Kindle. These are all authors that are on my to-be-read list, so these short stories should be a great introduction.

The Terminal List Season 2 was fantastic! Chris Pratt, Tom Hopper, Dar Salim, Luke Hemsworth (ouch), Gabriel LunaI and Arnold Vosloo were all amazing. I particularly loved how they incorporated characters from Dark Wolf into True Believer’s story. Now I just have to wait for Savage Son!

If you have never read the book series, I can’t recommend it highly enough. Without a doubt my favorite book series.

The reason I am doing what I am doing now is because of *this* sermon.
It might be the most impactful 2 minutes of preaching I've ever seen — and it changed my entire life.
I got the chance to read a pilot script by @daniel_knauf (of Carnival fame and a run on Iron Man;) for a proposed show based on Dante’s Inferno. I really enjoyed the otherworldly atmosphere that is juxtaposed against common everyday surroundings and the eclectic mix of characters that find themselves drawn together from various time periods and walks of life. The sharp humor of the script is what really kept me interested, and I particularly enjoyed a scene that included Harlan Ellison, Isaac Asimov and Stephen Hawking in Limbo. I would love to see where this develops, and think the inclusion of different historical figures and commentary on society and religion is a cool setup. Mr. Knauf, thank you for sharing this and allowing me to read it.
I am really saddened for my family in Brazil. Thankfully God is sovereign over all, but I do hope @potus pulls a Maduro. :)
🇧🇷🇺🇸Lula’s “unbelievable” miracle win is literally unbelievable. Behind in the first round, then a last-minute court extension of voting hours, and he flips it. How long will Brazil tolerate elections that can’t be audited? I’m speechless. This is in-your-face theft that cannot stand.
Tag @POTUS this Biden era bs cannot be allowed to continue!
