AirBNB had its place and time, but it’s over. Had a lovely stay at a Hyatt last night, left trash in the can, towels on the ground, and am confident my corporate overlord isn’t going to light me up with a guest review video. A professional exchange of goods for money. The AirBNB hosts did this to themselves and the platform lost control long ago.
its just bonkers the new policy @airbnb is trying to put in place. Putting the dishes in the dishwasher, taking out the trash, pulling the sheets off the bed....they are just standard things any normal person would do when staying at a house. Why wouldn't a host be allowed to say that?

Stop comparing it to a hotel. Most hosts have 1 property and do not have a full time staff. Rely on other small cleaning companies to do the work. They have their other clients they also have to take care of and allotted x amount of time for the clean. At times a house can sit for 24-36 hrs before they can get to the cleaning. Taking out trash and washing your own dishes just prevents flies/roaches & rodents etc. it’s just basic adulting.

It’s honestly wild that y’all were allowed to charge crazy cleaning fees and then make your customers do the cleaning they paid for. This policy is years too late. Hotels already won again.
