One of the scariest revelations is realizing how weak a lot of existing peer-reviewed literature actually is.
Lots of debate this week on whether journals should ban AI in peer review. We actually tested this in our new preprint, and the results were pretty clear to me. For context, I've reviewed for most of the big journals and evaluated 1,000 human reviews as an editor. I love to read and evaluate science. TLDR: From now on I won't do any peer review without AI. For clinical trials, I'd even call human-only review dangerous 🧵

In the big US treadmill registry, the top tenth of men in their 40s reach a VO2max of 52.1 mL of oxygen per kg per minute or more, above the typical man in his 20s, and the top tenth of women in their 40s sit above the typical woman in her 20s. Men and women in that top tenth are the ones who stayed active. For small groups of men who kept training for years, the loss ran about 5% a decade. A 40-year-old holding a 50 who keeps training most weeks is likely to keep his mobility into his 80s, while a 20-year-old at 48 without the activity habit is unlikely to be mobile enough to support themselves in their 80s

Suicidal people never realize is just how LONG life is. I used to give G.G. Allin a run for his money. Raising hell, brawling, blacking out on liquor state to state, actively suicidal. Nobody told me that 7 years later, I'd be driving my minivan to the LL Bean Store with my family and would actually genuinely enjoy it. I mean I used to sneer at the "LL Bean" type people, and now I guess I am one. My "normal" then and my "normal" now have almost nothing in common whatsoever. It is as if I have been given an entirely new life. And who knows? It could happen again. Maybe ten years from now I'll be a commodities trader in Pakistan, or running a successful chain of auto detailing stores in South Dakota. Literally anything could happen. I didn't know any of this the last time I put a gun in my mouth. If I did, I probably would've realized how absolutely fucking retarded it is to kill yourself.

For years I uploaded to YouTube almost every day: training, nutrition, prep vlogs, interviews, all of it on the Tigerfitness channel. On October 19, @YouTube terminated the channel. I appealed, and the appeal was denied the next day. I offered to remove any video they had a problem with and start clean. @TeamYouTube’s answer: no reinstatement, and no way to get a copy of my own videos. I’m not asking them to put the channel back up. I’m asking for my own work: thousands of videos showing my face, my voice, my training and my family over the years. So I’m taking action: • I’ve filed a formal request under the Tennessee Information Protection Act for a copy of my personal data, including every video I uploaded. • I’ve sent Google a formal notice to preserve the channel’s videos and records. • If they refuse, I’ll use every remedy available to me, including complaints to the state. Here’s how you can help: • Keep the pressure on. Reply to or tag @TeamYouTube and ask them to give Marc Lobliner a copy of his videos. Keep it respectful. Persistence works better than insults. • If you ever downloaded or saved one of my videos, reply or DM me. Every copy helps. I’ll keep you posted. I’m not stopping.

As I put my son to bed tonight, I had this train of thought. There is nothing better than being a dad. I've said this a few times but the sentiment grows and grows. There simply isn't anything better than being a Father. To tucking my son in and telling him I love him. To hear him ask me for one more story. One more funny noise. I know that there's a ton of Fathers on this app. A ton of Dad's. I mean this honestly and sincerely. I am rooting for you. No matter what is between us. If you're a dad, I'm hoping that you have an amazing relationship with your child. I know that there's dad's here who have kids in there 30's. Some with kids in highschool age, some same age as my son. Whatever age / stage that they're in, I'm rooting for ya. B/c I'm still and will be, always learning. I've learned a lot from a lot of great dads on this app. No, dad's aren't perfect. But man, we do f*cking try. Keep pushing and may God lead you with grace and love.

we need America to win. I truly believe that starts with Americans building local businesses that support their families and their communities, which ultimately makes America stronger. I’ve come to see X as a great tool in the growth of these businesses and if this account can simply get these businesses in front of a few more eye balls and lead to just a few more sales, then the time spent building it was worth it. but ideally, it leads to significantly more than that. over the coming days and weeks I’ll be putting out more resources to showcase, promote, and support these locally-based, family-run, American small businesses. there have been an incredible amount of new businesses start up on X since I last updated the thread, so be sure to let me know about then all and give me some time to capture then all again. the stronger we can make local communities in America again, the stronger we will be as a country against the forces of globalist change and protect the very way of life we love.

Guys. It finally happened Everyone on IOS can now jump on the real thing and enjoy apple health integration, a watch companion app (that works completely WITHOUT the phone when you synced it up once) and much more Testers: please stay on your testflight builds for now, you already have the newer version - would be cool if you’d throw a little review into the store though 😄 apps.apple.com/us/app/zane-t…

Boomers overwhelmingly say in polls that young people should be taxed more to pay for their social security. Social security is going bankrupt because it is a ponzi scheme misleadingly marketed to the missionary generation as if it were some sort of retirement account, and successively marketed to each generation through the boomers this way. Just because a ponzi scheme goes broke doesn’t make the people caught with the bag entitled to sell it to the next generation of victims. Hold the people who created it reputationally responsible and the people who perpetuated it financially responsible. Blame congress for spending it away. Blame the fed for backing up the right of banks to make money out of thin air. If boomers want to tax young people to pay for it, a fair trade would be that we a) tank the housing market by removing its artificial support (for example Fed could sell its mortgage-backed securities) b) subsidize home loans for everyone under 30 so they can buy them on the cheap c) put a property tax on homes bought with subsidized loans that is used to pay boomer social security This would be especially fair because it wouldn’t artificially tank the housing market, it would just stop artificially propping it up; only boomers who own homes would be hurt but poor boomers would be unaffected; poor boomers would even have a chance to get a home on the cheap if they had good credit; and the extra taxes would only go on young people who took advantage of the subsidy. However, inter-generational battles are a distraction from congress, the fed, the banks, and the regulatory state. Boomers have much more wealth than younger generations and young people can’t afford to pay their bills. That’s not because boomers made so much better choices than young people. It’s because money printing and public debt steals from the future. Each generation gets worse off as the bills of the past come due on those in the future. Boomers got houses that the government artificially made massively increase in value. Young people are now priced out of the market. The regulatory state and subsidized college loans let boomers become university presidents making corporate CEO salaries and gave admin jobs to lower-paid boomers while the cost of education went to the moon and young people got saddled with debt. Boomers took a blind eye to what their rulers were doing just like the missionary generation, the lost generation, the greatest generation, and the silent generation before them, and just like generation X and millennials have done after them and Z and alpha are doing so far. Blame the spenders and the printers — congress, the fed, and the banks — not the older or younger generations. Sue the ponzi for damages, don’t pass it on to the next sucker. Bind together against the people who screwed us and start with the spender and the printers.
JUST IN: 🇺🇸 US boomers overwhelmingly support higher taxes on younger workers to maintain current Social Security benefits, poll shows.

This one got a lot of pushback. And I think a lot of that comes down to how we define "exercise". "MVPA" = Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity. It sounds harder than it is. "Moderate" = >3 METs 3 METs is reached at a ~3mph walk! 🚶 In other words, the recommendation isn't 20 hours of hard training per week, it's just... Move. A lot.
Of all the dangerous misconceptions about exercise, the idea that 150 minutes per week is enough to keep your cardiovascular health where it needs to be has to be near the top of the list. As covered in #TheEnduranceCode... 150 minutes is a long way from where you want to be. If you want to keep cardiovascular risk as low as possible, you're going to need more than that. A LOT more.

Somewhere along the way, I realized that everyone has an opinion about how we should live, and none of them actually live our lives. You know the people: the critics, the armchair experts, the people who PEAK at giving unsolicited advice & unwanted comments. We’ve got a limited supply of energy, and I refuse to spend mine auditioning for the approval of people who can't even pick a restaurant without a group vote. My policy? I do what makes me happy and everyone else is welcome to watch from the cheap seats. Shout all you like, I can’t hear you from the nosebleed seats. Turns out, peace of mind is surprisingly affordable once you stop paying the emotional tax of caring what people think. Talk about me all you want. I'll be over here having a great time, blissfully unaware and deeply unbothered.

I can't believe it has been one year since the launch of Spartan Fuel Building this brand has been harder than I expected. But hearing from customers who love the product, feel the difference in their workouts, and keep coming back for more, makes me proud of what I’ve built. Thank you to everyone who has supported both the product and myself along the way. To celebrate, we are running an anniversary sale now through Sunday at noon: • 1 tub: 20% off with code YEAR1 • 2 tubs: 25% off • 3 tubs: 30% off All discounts are auto-applied and reflected in the cart using the link below Free US shipping + a 30-day money-back guarantee. Stop leaving reps on the table.
The wait is finally over — Spartan Fuel has arrived. Imagine Maximum muscle growth Skin-splitting pumps Limitless energy Laser-like focus What’s the secret? An all-encompassing, comprehensive intra-workout blend. Everybody knows about the importance of pre and post workout nutrition, but intra-workout nutrition is often neglected. The optimal time to fuel your body is when you are working out, breaking down muscle fibers, expending stored glycogen, and depleting electrolytes. In order to stimulate maximum muscle growth and achieve a vicious, skin-splitting pump, we need to fuel our bodies. Spartan Fuel contains a comprehensive blend of EAAs, fast-acting carbohydrates, electrolytes, and mitochondrial boosters that provides your body with EXACTLY what it needs to perform at it’s highest level. Many of you are probably like myself; you put on your best Walter White impression and whip up a concoction of supplements to try and find that edge. Why should we leave gains on the table, right? Well, I had enough of guessing and watching my supplement cabinet (and monthly bill) continuously grow. And then it struck me. There’s no product that properly combines EAAs, carbs, and electrolytes. After lifting for years, absorbing everything I could on X, I figured it was time to make my own mark. That’s when I decided to connect with the man himself, @BowTiedUM . Leveraging his expertise and my vision, we created a formula that would change the way we lift forever. We created a product that would be FELT IMMEDIATELY. After sending samples out to a bunch of bros here on X, the feedback was overwhelming — we had struck gold. Other-worldly pumps Gas tanks that were always running on full People crushing their log books, pumping out more reps than ever before… DURING EVERY SET Everyone felt like a million bucks. Once you try it, it you will never want to workout without it. It’s THAT good. We all push ourselves hard. Many of us train to failure. We want to get jacked. We want to get shredded. We all want to unleash our inner warrior in the gym. Now there’s a way to totally lock-in and dominate with intensity during very workout. We all know the feeling. Once in a while we have a workout that just blows us away. We feel stronger than ever, locked-in. We leave the gym with a high that has us feeling on top of the world. Now picture every single workout being that amazing. No other product can deliver the boost you need to consistently perform at the highest level. It’s basically a PED. We didn’t skimp out on quality. We didn’t cut corners. We included EVERYTHING needed to maximize results and boost performance. What many people don’t know is that in order for a supplement to truly be effective, the ingredients need to be dosed in the proper ratios. And that’s just what we did. And just when you think it can’t get any better (there has to be some catch, right…right?) We kept it natural — no artificial ingredients or sweeteners. This is something that digest like a dream, hits the bloodstream instantaneously, and fuels your muscles. Our competitors don’t do this. They sell a bunch of ingredients separately, trying to sell more products. Or they sell proprietary blends and junk loaded with fillers. Spartan Fuel makes your life easier. One tub. One scoop (or 2 if you’re like me and want to go hard). No more wasting money purchasing the entire supplement store. Whether you start drinking it on your way to the gym or as you begin your workout, you will quickly feel the difference. This fall, you can dominate every workout, and supercharge your winter bulk. And this post would not be complete without giving a huge thank you to @Thomas_Salamus_ TJ was instrumental to the birth of Spartan Fuel since Day 1. If you love his products, you’ll love Spartan Fuel. Rest assured, the quality is unmatched. The first batch is limited, so act now and don’t miss this opportunity to unlock your true potential.

The ideal hormonal profile is the one that can support your lifestyle, performance and health with room to spare. Don't get funneled INTO thinking you need TRT, thyroid hormones and neuro-steroids in your early 20s because you read a few tweets and get indoctrinated into a belief system because of a few persuasive bullets Use things ACCORDINGLY to support the life that YOU actually want to live. If you can do that naturally, then do it, if you cant then seek out the means that will get you there.

I think of modern healthcare like a casino. It can be incredibly useful when you need it. But if your entire health strategy is spending more and more time inside it... You might want to ask why you keep needing more chips. Health starts long before the pharmacy counter.

What people think networking is: •Going to conferences •Passing out business cards •Having surface-level conversations to “get your name out there” What networking really is: •Remembering birthdays, promotions, and new additions to the family •Learning people’s problems AND connecting them to solutions •Speaking highly of people in rooms they aren’t in Networking isn’t collecting contacts. It’s showing up for people.
