I think I feel a decent amount of (self-imposed?) pressure to do more as a Catholic, especially in the areas of evangelization and service to the poor. And I probably do need to do more! But I think one of the things the cloistered religious life reminds me is that prayer matters, and that even participating in Mass and trying to lift others up in prayer in simple, domestic ways is a meaningful part of my contribution to the Kingdom of God.

Women now have more money, more degrees, and more power than any generation before them. They do not seem to have more joy. In the push for women's equality, we have forgotten what women are. Some women are trying to change that. In @thedispatch thedispatch.com/article/femi…

Karlie: You did not have an abortion. The Church doesn't prohibit the medical procedure you underwent. Nor does the Church prohibit the medical treatment of an ectopic pregnancy. If someone told you otherwise, they were either misinformed or were deliberately misinforming you.

You know what the most magical thing about New York City is? Interactions with random strangers who tell you tidbits of life stories or who do their not-great job with such elan that you feel awe and respect. Or passing every kind of person each day. Endless potential for grace.

Skill issue but also eating and drinking in different rooms is one of life’s greatest pleasures so……..
they say "you can't have a boring week in NYC." almost every activity here is just eating or drinking in a different room.

Extremely good "In a way, I think Thunberg is an extreme example of a crisis of meaning that exists for a lot of people, mostly but not exclusively the young. I think she’s admirably honest about her autism and I don’t think it should be mocked. But I also don’t think one young woman’s hunger for meaning and her fight against personal loneliness helpfully illuminates hugely important issues."
