Has the West's engagement with the Chinese Communist Party made us increasingly unfree?
Even now, the Chinese regime is skillfully fueling hatred, division, and demoralization in the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination.
They're paying off influencers to promote messaging that's good for Beijing and trying to get us to hate each other, to treat each other as enemies.
We must never forget where the real enemy lies.
Thank you to @we_unify for letting me speak on the threats that the Chinese communist regime poses to Canada and the rest of the free world.

To be willing to speak the truth courageously, that is the key to turn the tides on the degradation of Western civilization.
That's my takeaway from moderating an excellent panel today with @laralogan, @caylanford, @LDBildy, and Dr. Renata Moon at the @we_unify conference in Calgary, Canada.

Instead of having one-size-fits-all policies imposed by Ottawa, we should have autonomous provincial governments that answer the needs and wishes of their citizens.

Just a stunning gal — I cannot believe Michelle is not in House of Commons leading with the Tories.
Just look at the quality of Liberal MP’s elected, half of them cannot stitch a sentence together.
Being able to hold a floor and connect, Michelle must be drafted back ASAP in HoC @PierrePoilievre @AndrewScheer @jasrajshallan @TimUppal

As a kid I pushed back against religious people because I hated how restrictive I thought they were.
Today I admire religious people because of how free they appear to be.

"These networks were washing drug cash at scale and combining with dominant new money-laundering service providers from China to warp the real-estate markets in Vancouver and Toronto. Ottawa’s response under Public Safety Minister Bill Blair at the time was tepid at best, proposing new federal anti-money-laundering measures that have done effectively nothing to counteract these networks. As I reported in 2019, my source with awareness of DEA probes into Canadian Hezbollah networks believed Canada had understood the threat for years and chose not to act decisively."

I would argue there are only three ways out of this mess:
1. Increase productivity- this will organically pay down the debt. This option is very unlikely with the red tape and lack of runway,
2. Hard default- default on the debt. This is unlikely as well as people will never lend you money again and would be extremely politically unpopular.
3. Soft default- continue to print currency and borrow, devaluing currency until debt to GDP is manageable. I overwhelmingly think they will pick this option. Try his will be massively inflationary.

Rob, when we talk about billions of dollars, it's hard for most people to grasp what that really means. Let me break this down to a personal level using data from BC's 2025 Budget.
Looking at the numbers per person in BC: as of 2023/24, each British Columbian's share of government debt now exceeds their share of government assets. This means BC has reached a critical financial turning point - we now owe more than we own.
This trajectory puts BC on a path toward spending cuts and austerity measures. It's worth noting that Finance Minister @BrendaBaileyBC's background is in political science and social work, not economics or finance.
This suggests that Minister Bailey is simply rubber-stamping what the decades old bureaucracy and perpetually retained consultants present to her. She has no say in the budget. The BC NDP has lost control of the bureaucracy, now the bureaucracy controls the NDP. @brett_oland @Dave_Eby @Dallas_Brodie @TaraArmstrongBC

Not only Canadians are losing jobs, like the over 100k in the past 2 months, but there are also less jobs in general.
Canada currently has the lowest job vacancies since Q1, 2018.
But apparently we still need foreign workers 🤦🏼

Spending on health coverage for asylum claimants has skyrocketed, outpacing growth in users and providing benefits many Canadians themselves can’t access.
