No one should have to do this. Regardless, let it inspire you. What else can YOU be doing right now? And, no, tweeting is not enough.
North Carolina A&T students marched an hour each way to vote on the first day of early voting after their campus polling site was removed by the Guilford County Elections Board. Proud 👏🏽

8am: Israel's vote is the "last chance" before becoming a pariah state. 9am: Syria banning women from university courses is "a bad omen." One country is running a free election, the other is closing classrooms to women. Guess which one gets called a pariah.
Israel's vote today is "the last chance to preserve democracy and pull Israel back from the brink of becoming a pariah state under international sanctions." trib.al/boGxIVQ

No. This is a report by the UN Human Rights Council's Independent International Commission of Inquiry, an investigative body, not a court. It is not a judicial ruling. The ICJ genocide case remains ongoing with no final determination. The findings are contested: Israel rejects them as biased, and they lack broad international consensus as fair or definitive.

Fun fact: Palestinians get more aid per capita than any group of people in history. Many legal terms are specifically redefined to accommodate their terror- grievance industrial complex: "refugees", "genocide." Unique status designations have been invented specifically for them.
No people in modern history have suffered injustice on the scale endured by the Palestinian people.

Amnesty's Gaza "genocide" report relies on 15 airstrike cases as evidence that IDF targeted ONLY civilians. FIVE are now proven to have killed combatants. A key example, the Oct 9, 2023 attack on Jabalia market, now has 6 proven combatants killed and that number is growing.

Perhaps the UN Secretary-General could explain why he thinks a two-state solution is viable when one side isn't interested in that proposition. As Bill Clinton said: “The Palestinians were offered a state. They refused. A state wasn't their goal. Killing Jews was."

I’ve just written a piece about the total disconnect of people in the West who see the war through the Hamas supplied lense and the people in Israel who are debating the future of their country. Israelis (most, obvs they don’t all agree) know it’s not a genocide. They know Hamas is a terrorist organisation which kills Palestinians as well as Jews. And it’s fair that a left wing Israeli should see a democracy in her own country through that lense rather than the one ignorant people in the West want her to have.
The authentic voice of Israeli "liberalism." Linda Dayan lists the memories that will haunt her on election day. It would seem that after 3 yrs of genocide the 21,000 plus slaughtered children of Gaza have yet to intrude on her consciousness. haaretz.com/israel-news/haar…

“Short on evidence” that Qatar supports Al-Jazeera?! These guys can be surreal sometimes.
Great write-up on Qatar from @msergie in @semafor this morning. Sergie refutes several longstanding accusations that have become staples of the seemingly endless campaign against Qatar for political ammunition and elections: that Doha supports political groups, and uses Al Jazeera and American universities to advance its agenda. Notably, he emphasizes that these charges have long been “short on evidence,” citing @TIME’s recent investigation revealing Israeli coordination of Qatari payments to Gaza, as well as @PNT_Gulf’s recent op-ed examining the facts behind Qatar’s investments in American higher education. Excellent analysis, and well worth the read. ( some key points in the comments below ) semafor.com/newsletter/10/26…

The Commission of Inquiry (COI) report, issued under the auspices of the politicized UN Human Rights Council, is not a human rights report but a propaganda document detached from reality, aimed at undermining Israel’s right to self-defense, delegitimizing the Jewish state, and legitimizing jihadist terrorism against its citizens. The Commission, which was established in 2021, was flawed from the outset and has targeted Israel exclusively since day one. Its activities are an example of the vast UN resources, funding, and personnel devoted to advancing anti-Israel propaganda. This false report says far more about the political agenda of the body behind it than it does about Israel. The fact that the so-called “report” parrots the narrative of terrorist organizations word for word is clear proof of its true nature and motives. This is the shameful legacy of the UN Secretary-General and the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Hamas has no plans to disarm. Hamas has rebuilt its tunnels. Hamas has restored its pre-October 7 force of 30,000-40,000 operatives. Hamas has threatened another October 7. And yet the world keeps asking Israel to make concessions. What's yours?

If you need to change the definition of genocide, ethnic cleansing, famine, and unjust wars only to be able to conclude Israel fits the definition, then maybe the problem wasn’t the original definitions.

1/ Israelis haven't even voted yet, but apparently the verdict on Israeli democracy is already in. This election analysis by @Beltrew of @Independent tells readers that whoever wins, Palestinians can expect more "occupation, annexation, apartheid and continued genocide." Reasonable analysis? More like advocacy.🧵

I feel like I owe Mehdi a better answer here. I think Karim Khan brought the most reasonable charges he could: that Israel was stingy with aid and that a handful of air strikes were worth examining more closely. Karim Khan implied by omission that the air campaign is kosher.
Replying to @JacobALinker
Do you accept his war crimes charges against Netanyahu or not? If not, STFU about anything else Khan said.

From @RitchieTorres FACT: The annual funding Israel receives from the US amounts to less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget. Less than 1/10th of 1%. FACT: That annual funding would cover only a few hours of federal health care spending. A few hours. Yet politicians who specialize in scapegoating would have you believe that Israel is responsible for America’s affordability crisis. Like every form of scapegoating before it, it is a dangerous lie.
The @AbdulElSayed campaign statement: "This ad is not affiliated in any way with the Abdul for Senate campaign. Abdul is focused on pushing back against Trump’s agenda that is raising prices for Michiganders. No one speaks for Abdul but himself and his campaign." Nowhere in this statement does he condemn the message of the ad or even express any disagreement with it. If anything, he just finds the timing - in the last week of the campaign - to be tactically unhelpful.

Since October 7, 2023, and the rapid rise of Islamist fervor, 147 Christian families left Bethlehem, reducing Christians in Jesus’s birthplace to 7% from 40% in 1998 and 85% in 1948. If attributing this to Jews rather than Muslims, compare it to Syria, where Christians fell from 10% in 2011 to 2% today.
