Veronica is a teenager whose life took a different turn when her own father forced her into marriage to a man in his forties, who took her from CRS to Plateau State. On the 16th of April, she reached out, begging to be rescued. That call led to a 7 months journey. 🧵Share🙏

Finally home😩♥️ It was my first time at the J. Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History and the place looked amazing. I didn't have the time to go round to see the entire infrastructure, but the parts I saw were really cool.
I was outside today for an exclusive book launch by Dele-Balogun. More details soon.

The Bible will forever remain the written word of God Whatever type of sinful lifestyle that we are all engaged with, we should at least have the balls to admit that we are errring, rather than attempt to twist the scripture to suit our current state of grace. Be for real please. . . P.S This post is for practicing Christians who recognize the Bible as the written word of God🧎🧎🧎🧎🧎

Twitter mannnn😳 Please don't ragebait me this evening 🙏 Go away, I beg you🧎🧎
You respect bigotry. That is the whole essence of your post. The Igbos will never let a man like Tinubu lead them. Check their voting pattern since democracy came. They always vote competence. They don’t suffer fools gladly. With this post, you have no clue who the Igbos are.

School Outreach Update coming up this week🥺 To everyone who has supported Bonnicare Foundation's @BONCAFO work over the years, especially those who have believed in us, stood by us, donated, shared our stories, amplified our work online, and supported me personally, I want to say a very big thank you. I don't think I say this enough, but I am genuinely grateful. This work has not been easy. And if I told you that it hasn't taken a toll on me mentally, financially and emotionally, I would be lying. There are days when the weight of it all feels overwhelming. There are moments when I have had to dig deep just to find the strength to keep going. Sometimes, I have had to figure things out with very little, carry responsibilities that feel bigger than me, and keep showing up even when I am exhausted. But somehow, the kindness of Nigerians who believe in what we do keeps finding me. Every donation, every encouraging message, every repost, every person who chooses to stand with us reminds me that I am not doing this alone. And that means more than I can adequately put into words. 📌If you're ever led to support our work in rural communities, please donate to 0165410679 Union Bank - Bonnicare Foundation. One thing I have come to realise over the years is how easy it is to become disconnected from the realities of other people. It is easy to live within our own bubbles and forget that there are millions of Nigerians whose everyday struggles are far removed from anything we may ever have to experience. There are people in this country who wake up every morning to realities that are unimaginably difficult. Children whose access to education is uncertain. Families struggling to afford the most basic necessities. Women and girls living through circumstances that many of us would find difficult to comprehend. Communities where things we often take for granted are privileges. These are the people I have always wanted to reach. These are the communities I have always wanted to show up for. Not because I have all the answers or because I have everything figured out, but because I cannot bring myself to look away when there is something I can do. As the founder and chief storyteller of Bonnicare Foundation, I have had the privilege of witnessing what even the smallest acts of kindness can make possible. I have seen lives change because someone, somewhere, decided to give. I have seen doors open because a stranger cared enough to support a child, a family or a community. So, to everyone who has donated money, supported our projects, shared our appeals, told our stories, checked on me, encouraged me, or simply reminded me that this work matters, thank you. You may never fully understand what your support has meant to us, but I hope you know that it has helped us keep going. I may not always have the resources I wish I had. I may not always have the strength I wish I had. But I remain committed to showing up for the people and communities that need us. Thank you for believing in the work. Thank you for believing in me. And thank you for helping us remind people in forgotten communities that they, too, matter. We still have so much work to do. ❤️

It’s our anniversary month at @mistyglamcorp. 🥹 Around this time five years ago, I told my family and friends I wanted to start an inclusive modelling agency for people of all skin tones, body types, heights, sizes and abilities. I wanted to make room for the people the fashion and beauty industries had taught us not to expect on their runways, campaigns and covers. Some people, out of genuine concern, told me the work would probably become NGO-related because there was no money to be made in it. I understood where they were coming from. The industry had spent years telling us what beauty should look like. Who was I to change that? But I saw it as a challenge. I started Misty Glam Company with five years of experience in advertising and marketing, relationships I’d built with brand managers and business owners, and a vision. I didn’t have an extensive plan. I just knew the change I wanted to see, and that building it would be a marathon, not a sprint. Five years later, this work has given me some of the greatest fulfilment of my life. What began as a modelling agency has grown into an advocacy agency, creating opportunities and pushing for change across fashion, beauty and beyond. Along the way, we’ve helped create some significant firsts: Nigeria’s first Albinism Advocacy Pageant, IncluNorm Fashion, Africa’s first adaptive fashion initiative, disability-inclusive runway shows, @IncluNorm for disability inclusion education, and Before You Say That, our dictionary of disability-inclusive language. And there’s still so much we hope to build, including our upcoming Advocacy Runway Show bringing together 100 models with disabilities and visible differences. If I could meet the version of me who started this journey five years ago, I don’t think she would have imagined all we’ve achieved so far. I’m proud of our team. Proud of what we’ve built. And deeply grateful to my family, friends, partners, clients and everyone who has believed in this vision and supported us along the way. Five years. I can hardly believe I get to say that. Here’s to the work ahead, and to making sure more people get to be seen. 💚 Misty Glam Company is five.

I’m deeply grateful to the over 100 people who took time off their busy schedules to attend the opening event of my photography exhibition, ‘Desserts from the Desert’. At some point, the auditorium at Alliance Française was filled to the brim, prompting ushers to ask @fijnigeria staff to vacate their seats for guests. I do not take such interest in my work lightly. I’m also grateful to @NewsCentralTV for the generous coverage. Abuja, we’re coming for you Nov 24 - 26!

Dele Farotimi said it best. DO NOT DIE IN THEIR WARS
There are no permanent friends or enemies in politics as I watch closely. They make quiet deals, build alliances behind close doors but without pictures you won’t know! Many of them are friends, business associates, in-laws and so forth. Observe how they greet each other at events and you’ll know that these guys definitely send each other funny clips on WhatsApp and IG. Maybe your own memes too. If they lose, they will still share a drink. If they win, they will find a way to appoint each other. They will hire those who insulted them before over those who praised them. Yup! They don’t care how passionately you hate their friends, na wetin dey their mind them go do.
