every couple days for the last few weeks I've watched this for like a hundred times straight.

It would be an historic own-goal if Democrats used their victory to work with the repudiated Trump in order to allow Big Tech build to gas pipelines to data centers without environmental review. ๐
Head of @USCleanPower Jason Grumet says on a press call that BAAJA in the lame duck "is the first test of Democrats' willingness to make the tough choices needed to actually reduce energy prices."

Fetterman spent the last two years being an enormous asshole, secure in his assessment that Dems would need him in 2027. That turned out to be a bad bet!

Will Dems pass a bill heavily shaped by Mike Lee, determined foe of public lands and environmental law, just as they are about to take control of the Senate?
Jason Rylander ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๏ธ retweeted
This is a pivot, and BAAJA is not an affordability bill.
BAAJA is estimated to save US households just pennies a day.
BAAJA is an all of the above energy bill that makes it possible to build natural gas pipelines directly to data centers with no environmental review.
Jason Rylander ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๏ธ retweeted
Will Dems now tie themselves to a bill that was written when Mike Lee and the GOP were in a dominant position of strength?
Jason Rylander ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๏ธ retweeted
There were so many boomerang effects, where Trump and the Republicans profoundly underestimated the demand of the American people to defend and protect their rights, their democracy, and the quest for justice.
Jason Rylander ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๏ธ retweeted
The political mood music for BAAJA could not be starker.
Voters hate data centers.
They hate Republicans.
Don't negotiate an "all of the above" more electricity plan to fuel data center demand with lame duck Republican Chairs! Have regular process!
Jason Rylander ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๏ธ retweeted
part of the climate comms work moving forward will be to separate out transmission lines and clean energy from data centers and other kinds of toxic development
#BAAJA running roughshod over communities and allowing all kinds of building w little review makes that SO much harder
Jason Rylander ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๏ธ retweeted
You thought it was a bad night for Republicans? Take a look at data centers.

Among other things, this is an absolute rebuke of the war in Iran. Democrats would be wise to heed that lesson and truly become the anti-war party.
Jason Rylander ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๏ธ retweeted
This initiative has passed: called by the AP. The fight will move to the courts but it is an unequivocal, bipartisan repudiation by voters of Michigan's two investor-owned utilities as toxic entities.

Looking mighty close in Memphis #TN09, where Justin Pearson (D) is very much in the hunt for a shock upset win despite Republicans' gerrymander in Tennessee, which made the 9th district *64 points* redder, from Harris+43 to Trump+21
Jason Rylander ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๏ธ retweeted
How on earth could Dems justify voting through any Republican bills now?
Permitting bill should go bye bye now because why would you give anything up now?!?!?!
Jason Rylander ๐โฎ๏ธ๐๏ธ retweeted
I would bet my left arm that voters have *no idea* that permitting reform is on the ballot, and they are going to be PISSED if the first thing Democrats do after tonight is work with Republicans to pass a bill that helps Big Tech build gas pipelines to data centers.

Not one single person believes this is true. Israel doesn't believe it. Washington doesn't believe it. Nobody reading about it in the New York Times believes it. But we're hearing about it anyway like it's a real thing, because too many powerful people want more bombing in Iran.
