There is growing concern among parents in Wales and across the UK about how RSE (sex ed) is being taught in schools. Parents should engage with schools and ask for clarity on lesson content. Visit our website for guidance and key questions to ask. Link in bio.

I didn’t really get the problem with gender ideology at first. I’m liberal-minded about most things. ‘Live and let live’ has generally been my motto. I believed in inclusion, kindness and not causing unnecessary offence. I knew some adults chose medical treatments or surgery to resemble the opposite sex. That seemed to me a matter of personal autonomy. Adults can do what they wish with their own bodies. What I hadn’t realised — and I feel slightly embarrassed admitting this — was that I’d misunderstood what was being claimed. I thought “transgender” meant a form of self-expression. A man who liked wearing women’s clothes. Someone changing their name. Gender non-conformity. What I hadn’t grasped was that some activists weren’t just asking for tolerance. They were asserting that declaring yourself the opposite sex made you the opposite sex. Not metaphorically. Literally. And that this wasn’t just cultural. It had legal consequences. It meant men who said they were women were demanding access to women’s sports, prisons, domestic violence shelters and hospital wards. It meant the rewriting of healthcare language — “pregnant people”, “bodies with cervixes” — to avoid saying “women”. It meant children struggling with identity being affirmed onto medical pathways with lifelong implications. And also redefining same-sex attraction. Lesbians called ‘bigoted’ for not wanting relationships with men who identify as women. Gay men accused of prejudice for saying they’re not attracted to female bodies. I’d also overlooked how deeply this had spread into public institutions, schools and workplaces. And how easily disagreement was framed as cruelty. Speaking up felt risky — because others were being publicly humiliated for doing so. None of this is abstract. Because sex is the basis on which safeguarding works. On which data is collected. On which cancer screening programmes run. On which fair sport and single-sex spaces depend. It’s written into law — including the Equality Act — because material differences matter. If sex becomes a ‘feeling’ rather than a biological category, those protections become unstable. And once reality becomes negotiable, everything does. Once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it. But I needed to be sure. So I read. Books, research papers, policy documents. When I finally spoke publicly, there was backlash from all directions. Many women thanked me, while some feminists criticised me for speaking too late. Others were angry about a past interview I’d done with the parent of a transgender person, accusing me of promoting harm. It takes courage to speak when you know your reputation, friendships or livelihood may be on the line — when you know raising your voice could strain, or even end, relationships you value. Once I understood what was at stake, staying silent was no longer an option. I lost my livelihood simply for saying I didn’t like the phrase “pregnant people”. That alone tells you something is deeply wrong. It shouldn’t be this way. I don’t expect praise for admitting it took me far too long to understand what was happening. Or to say so publicly. I can only be honest about what I believed then and what I understand now. But it does take courage to admit publicly that you got something wrong. All I hope is that by acknowledging I wasn’t paying enough attention, another woman (or man) might feel emboldened to do the same. Because, as many of us know first-hand, there can be professional, social and financial consequences to speaking out. And I won’t pretend I understood something before I did, simply to make myself more acceptable to those who got there sooner. Which is why I will never judge another woman for how long it takes her to find her voice. Because every voice matters. Whenever it is raised.

Fantastic speech. So many questions... Why does the NHS still allow males into female changing rooms? Why has its guidance still not been published? Why is it spaffing millions and millions of public money on fighting its own staff? At this point I think we can safely say NHS management and the Department of Health are failing everyone.
"Imagine telling your daughter, sister, wife or mother that if she objects to undressing in front of a man at work, she is the one who must leave. That was our reality.” Powerful full speech from President of the Darlington Nursing Union, Bethany Hutchison, at the 'When Reality Meets NHS Policy' Conservative Party conference fringe event

@JamesEsses I would sincerely like to believe you. But just about every concerned parent or victim of gender ideology and serious child safeguarding campaigner I know who has rightly focussed on the harm done to children by gender ideology, and not mere ‘women’s toilet rights’ - and who therefore have been asking for an urgent inquiry into ‘gender identity’ capture, legal reforms, the reprioritisation of safeguarding over EDI ideology and an end to the indoctrination of children in schools and medicine - has NOT been invited to ‘work alongside’ Kemi. We have generally been held at arms length by the Tories, given placating words and zero action, or worse been treated as if we are some kind of hard right faction, whilst liberal Human Rights activists get to waft in and out of Tory briefings while playing ineffective legal games over ‘women’s rights’. So why on earth should we trust Kemi or indeed you on this matter? The Tories let this atrocity take place on their watch, then half heartedly promised to address it, yet failed to deliver over and over. It is one thing to say that as a Minister in another PM’s govt she did not have the power to deliver what she personally believes in, but now that she is supposedly in charge of the Conservative Party, we still do not hear the specific, cast iron guarantees of the legal reforms necessary to cease this cult and prosecute those senior people who did damage with it - including the predatory aspect of it that hides behind LGBTQ+ labels that no one wants to touch (not least because of the truly absurd amount of gay activists who now make up the Tory grass roots and SpAderatti). I will not be voting for anything less than an outright promise to: - repeal the GRA and EA2010, especially the Protected Characteristic of Gender Reassignment - ban the Puberty Blocker trials and disown Cass - halt RSHE/PSHE and end LGBTQ+ indoctrination in schools on pain of sacking for every teacher who indulges in it - prosecute those who have harmed children via malpractice in public service or high office - draw a line by issuing an apology to the British people for the staggeringly crazy policies the Tories have pushed into law and public service over their last, catastrophic tenure.
I have spent years working alongside Kemi on safeguarding children and protecting women from nefarious gender ideology. Anyone who knows me knows that upholding biological reality is my thing. She is the only leader I trust to bring an end to gender ideology once and for all.

What on earth does “Safeguarding must work in both directions“ mean? Child #safeguarding must be absolutely paramount. People with no understanding of it need to stop inadvertently undermining it. We are still waiting for @KemiBadenoch & @Conservatives to tell us exactly what they think is covered by the ‘+’, why they think it should be protected & how they think it intersects with child protection. The so called ban on ‘conversion therapies’ is a Trojan horse for the biggest attack on child safeguarding since @UKLabour passed the #GRA2004 last time they were in office. #RestoreSafeguarding #RepealTheGRA
No one should be coerced, shamed, or 'treated' out of who they are. We support a ban on conversion therapy that targets abuse while protecting open, honest conversations for parents, teachers, and clinicians. Safeguarding must work in both directions.

The open-minded far left, once again demonstrating their incredible tolerance… So long as nobody actually says anything they disagree with.
Hardly a shock this was your reception, given what Cardiff Uni’s SHRN are asking Welsh primary schools to take part in. This survey is being introduced to kids as young as 7 Not to mention the Queen of “queering childhood”, Prof Emma Renold, who helped shape Wales’ RSE curriculum

‼️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN HERE IN WALES. YEARS 3-6 ‼️ Nearly half of Welsh primary schools took part in the last SHRN survey (2024). Is your child’s school taking part this time?

I did ask Girlguiding whether its 2019 Stonewall ‘Binary Breakdown’ materials were still in use. They declined to comment. Yet the materials are still available to download from its website, hidden behind the title ‘Instruction Disruption’. So I’m guessing that’s a yes? Are more girls being taught that they can be neither male nor female - or that not liking stereotypically girly things might mean they’re not actually girls at all? If so, that’s pretty concerning. 🚨 NEW - Teenage girls in Dorset were introduced to non-binary identities during a Girlguiding session called ‘Binary Breakdown’ this week. An activity sheet with the same name, produced in conjunction with LGBT rights charity Stonewall, tells girls that some people do not identify as male or female and may feel they are “somewhere in between” or “neither”. One father withdrew his teenage daughter from the session, saying he hadn't signed her up to Girlguiding to be taught about gender identities. My latest for The Telegraph. The number of Detransitioners is on the rise - worldwide. Each one needs compassionate, impartial support. If the #ConversionPracticesDraftBill becomes law where can they go for this support when even a conversation could be seen as a conversion practice? #BinTheBill

More than seventy years of confidential maternal-death investigation demonstrates a basic principle of public health: You cannot protect what you do not identify. You cannot investigate what you do not record. And you cannot improve women's healthcare if women disappear from the data and the language used to describe it. Exactly this. 👇 We are brainwashing our children.
Meryl Streep is a brilliant actress. That isn't the point. C.S. Lewis wrote Aslan as Christ. Male. He. The Son of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea. Netflix has chosen a woman to give voice to that explicitly male Christ figure. This doesn't happen in a cultural vacuum. For years, Hollywood has been deliberately breaking the connection between biological sex, gender and identity, particularly in stories presented to children. Male becomes female. Female becomes male. And eventually the audience is expected to pretend there are no differences. As if they weren't there. Now that treatment has reached Aslan, one of the most recognizable representations of Jesus Christ in children's literature. This is not “artistic vision.” This switch from male to female of a representation of Christ in literature is both disrespectful of C.S. Lewis' original work and and the man himself. At what point does “inclusion” become the deliberate erasure of the source material, and a mockery of the Christian faith at its center?

Wales, on the other hand… 😭 No such clear guidance. Schools are encouraged to engage parents and share EXAMPLES of the resources they plan to use, but there’s no equivalent requirement to make all teaching materials available on request.
Replying to @ProtectTeach
A small win for parents in England as far as transparency is concerned - only effective of course if parents are actually seeking to understand the curriculum in the first instance. Wales on the other hand… 😭
