Bills don't get worse in daylight, they get worse when nobody's watching. So we're watching. The Health Bill goes to Lords Committee from 28 October. MPs voted down single-sex wards 106 to 302. In Ireland, the sick and twisted cockroach regime really want us to believe that strange, random autogynophilic men aren’t a threat to children, while their grandparents are.

I worry this is just a back handed way to defund arts and humanities course.

Burn-out.. comply or else.. I lasted longer than 7 years though... but the if the children fail YOU failed is also a big pressure... Senior management not backing teachers up on behaviour policies is also another big one.

With the hugging thing attacking the last generation of Irish Mammies, the trad wife thing attacking the current crop, and non-binary babies being born to birthing parents….. it’s as if those referendum losses never happened to the Gov.

White working class children are the most likely to leave school at 16 without going into further education or employment according to DfE data. It’s about time the Government analysed family breakdown as a factor in educational outcomes. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

They've pulled the advert. The correct time for stopping such a creepy, authoritarian family-phobic absurdity was before it ever graced the airwaves.
🇮🇪 The Irish state has published an advert discouraging grandparents from hugging their grandchildren, as part of a campaign designed to promote "consent".

🎅🎄 WE'RE DOWN TO SINGLE FIGURES! 🎄🎅 JUST 9 WEEKS UNTIL CHRISTMAS MORNING! ❤️ Yes, NINE! We've officially crossed the line from double digits to single digits, and I feel this deserves some sort of celebration! 🥳 In exactly nine weeks, Father Christmas will have been, Rudolph will have demolished his carrot, the mince pies will have mysteriously vanished, and millions of people will be surrounded by wrapping paper wondering why nobody remembered to buy batteries! 😂 Meanwhile, Christmas enthusiasts are practically jingling already, while the "IT'S ONLY OCTOBER!" brigade are considering muting me until Boxing Day. And I have a very important question… 🎅 Have you watched a Christmas film yet? And for those of you who insist it's far too early… I regret to inform you that I'll be back next Friday with an even smaller number! 🤣 This countdown is for everyone who LOVES Christmas, everyone who wants to know, everyone who NEEDS to know, and especially those who didn't know they needed to know! 63 DAYS TO GO! 🎄❤️ You're very welcome! 😇🎅

A MINISTER'S ASSURANCE IS NOT A STATUTORY SAFEGUARD. Bridget Phillipson says the Draft Conversion Practices Bill will protect parents, free expression and legitimate therapy. But where are those protections in the legislation? ⚖️ No express parental exemption. ⚖️ Broad, contextual definition of abuse. ⚖️ Preventative orders without requiring a prior conviction. ⚖️ A conditional healthcare exclusion. A newspaper article cannot rewrite a Bill or create statutory protections. Our 769-page analysis concludes that the Government has not justified these new offences and powers. Protect and Teach's recommendation remains: WITHDRAW THE BILL. Read our response and compare the Minister's promises with the draft legislation: 🔗 protectandteach.org/a-minist…

How patronising... Maybe they should look into why around 1 in 10 new teachers leave within a year, and about a third have gone within five years!!

22 OCTOBER 1707 MORE THAN 1,500 SAILORS LOST AND A DISASTER THAT HELPED CHANGE NAVIGATION FOREVER. Imagine commanding one of the most powerful naval fleets in the world, having experienced officers, skilled sailors and the finest navigation equipment available and still not knowing precisely where you are. On this day in 1707, a Royal Navy fleet commanded by Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell was returning from the Mediterranean when disaster struck off the Isles of Scilly. Stormy weather, poor visibility and the limitations of contemporary navigation had left the fleet dangerously uncertain of its position. That evening, four warships; HMS Association, Eagle, Romney and Firebrand, were wrecked on rocks. Admiral Shovell was among the dead. More than 1,500 men lost their lives. Some historical estimates approach 2,000. The tragedy exposed one of the greatest scientific challenges of the age. Sailors could calculate their latitude; how far north or south they were, reasonably well when conditions permitted. But calculating longitude, their position east or west, was far more difficult. Without an accurate means of establishing longitude, even experienced navigators could find themselves dangerously far from where they believed they were. The disaster helped intensify demands for a solution. In 1714, Parliament passed the Longitude Act, offering rewards of up to £20,000 for a practical method of determining longitude at sea. Among those who eventually transformed navigation was a Yorkshire-born carpenter and self-taught clockmaker named John Harrison. His remarkable marine timekeepers demonstrated that accurate timekeeping could help sailors calculate longitude with unprecedented precision. But this was no overnight invention. Harrison devoted decades to the problem, and the development of reliable maritime navigation was a long process involving many contributors. Today, modern ships use satellite navigation systems that can establish their position with extraordinary accuracy. In 1707, sailors had charts, compasses, observations, calculations; and considerable uncertainty. The sea had not changed. Our ability to understand where we were upon it eventually did. Today we remember the men who died off the Isles of Scilly, and the scientific advances their loss helped inspire. 🫡⚓️🇬🇧

Or in advance of 1), 2) or 3), it was a bad idea to let anyone draft equalities statute and create an equalities quango in the first place, because 1), 2) and 3) are inevitable results of that, based on entirely predictable aspects of human nature?
