Retired in 2020 living off #ISAs and #SIPP #pension. Reluctant investor who's picked up more about investing than he ever wanted to

My hastily produced 2025 review which helps me 12 months down the line so don't feel guilty for ignoring it! thereluctantinvestor.blogspoโ€ฆ

2/ So, like in 2022, challenge is to retain as much as poss of that profit to keep ahead of my #CGT benchmark. Not too difficult it turns out for 2025.

1/ Happy New Year to all. Been quite a year both personally and financially. Reduced holdings down to 46. 2nd best year ever as my stubborn adherence to the UK finally proves a broken clock etc... Overall growth across all PFs is 16.78%, as ever taking balances + cash withdrawn

Trimmed back another ยฃ9k of #BRWM yesterday to bring it to 10k. May prove to be trimming the flowers etc... but I've sat and watched gains evaporate before and over target commodities exposure.
Trimmed this chunk of #BRWM back to 16k today to bank 5k. That's more than replaced the 4k tax we paid taking it out of the SIPP to gift into son's ISA ๐Ÿ˜

Exited last 12k chunk of #IBT so zero in direct pharma now. GWA!

Exited #GSK so I'm sure it'll fly from here but - happy to have made a profit - isn't a fit for the income ISA -top of 10 year range

#DGI9 : "No-one better than us at creative NAV accounting" #HGEN: "Hold my ๐Ÿบ" Finally exited another alt poster child - I've seen this play before. More reputational damage to a tarnished sector. Maybe Saba will be the catalyst for something more than a few discount closings

Just come in to catch up with budget summaries. Usual farcical and over-complicated new taxes but as a retiree, only the EV tax seems to be affecting me. So... if it's not hitting me, nor allegedly "the working", who IS actually plugging the gap ๐Ÿค”

Flogged 52k of #TFIF and rounded it up to 100k to put into RL Sterling EY Bond fund. Still retain 15k in higher-risk ISA but happy to sit on hands (and some cash) for a while yet. Have a good weekend ๐Ÿป
I always welcome the bear cases for holdings, especially one we have a fair chunk in across PFs #TFIF (& #SMIF). Considering de-risking to RL EY Bond fund in our SIPPs. I use that in smaller family PFs and never disappoints. 2 yrs vs 7

#tfif Stumbled upon this one this morning, as results were out I m terrified..... This one holds equity and BB- tranches in CLO, CMBS, RMBS and synthetic risk transfers... I checked one of the issues they hold and it's a second charge mortgage.... Needless to say, this will

Only got a small holding (-52%) in still-suspended #HGEN who seem to have taken inspo from another "niche" diversifier (#DGI9) and mis-valued NAV. Weird how it's never under-valued ๐Ÿค” A cynic might think there's a legal case to answer...
Averaged down ยฃ1400 in #HGEN today. Not advice, DYOR etc... but been some momentum of late

Added 16k of #BRWM to bring commodities exposure up to 5%. Hoping it fares better than previous inflation-linked decisions.

Enjoyed this whilst driving thru Austria to Garda (again) for a bit of a road trip with school chums as we've all turned 60 this year. @HTVIOLA 's "explainers" are a great point from which to research. Don't remember there being any ๐Ÿฟ๏ธ ๐Ÿฟ๏ธ in this one though

Sold 11k of my 21k of #IBT in my SIPP. Not sure I have the patience to wait another 4.5 years for it to reach this level again for a relatively low yield. Underweight specific pharma and not really sure how useful a 5% weighting is in the grand scheme of things.

Sold ~half of remaining #GSK - it's in the income ISA and isn't a particularly high yield so will try to take profits within the 12-18 range. Which will probably fail so end up purchasing less volatile 8% debt income in the end ๐Ÿ˜‰
