The first myth of food safety is that a high cost means safe food. But that is not at all the case, says @Tukaram_IndIAS. @suchetadalal @moneylifers @yogtoday

A couple simple rules a consumer can follow, says @Tukaram_IndIAS 1. Ask questions, don’t accept something as the norm. 2. Read the labels. Ensure what you’re consuming is safe. 3. Report issues to the FDA. There is a toll free number, we have put email ids of our offices in the public domain…but the easiest way would be to use the portal I’ve launched - complaints.mahafda.in/ We are using technology and AI tools to ensure complaints registered are resolved in 14 days. And as the commissioner I can observe it all live. @suchetadalal @moneylifers @yogtoday

Almost every festive season there is an increase illness, and we assume it’s because of seasonal change. But that is not the case. And what about seasonal sales? We have observed that expired food is being relabelled and sold at low prices during the sale festive seasons. We don’t fall sick because of the seasonal change. But because of poor substandard foods that are sold in the festive sale season. @Tukaram_IndIAS @suchetadalal @Moneylifers @yogtoday

To take a loan to gamble in the stock market and then play victim.....dealt with enough of these by now. Blind greed doesn't deserve empathy. Period @MoneylifeF @suchetadalal

When risky bonds are sold as “Super FDs”, who protects ordinary investors? The Yes Bank AT1 bonds case raises serious questions about mis-selling, the RBI’s role and the limits of disclosure-based regulation. @moneylifers examines the bigger lessons. It has already reached a stage where the only recent notices come from defaulters, those named by @dir_ed, @CBIHeadquarters, or those involved in bankruptcy proceedings with multiple rulings against them... What does this say about the new boldness and confidence? The finger points to the breakdown at the top!! One bad order of the Supreme Court - left untouched -- none of the venerable retired judges speak about it either -- is creating havoc! @pbhushan1 @KapilSibal @apar1984 @grumpeoldman @internetfreedom

The systematic breakdown of the judiciary, where lower courts read signals from the top is that every crook with money now sends legal notices, using the most obscure, weaponised rules, which have been repeatedly tinkered with in the past decade to harass, attempt to intimidate and waste time. All this will eventually come back to bite the present government because a broken system will take time to repair. Will they wake up in time?? @internetfreedom @MLJ_GoI

Dear @AshwiniBhide @mybmc - this is to being to your attention that your officials have been telling the locals that I asked for demolition of a temple. This is dubious- they watched the illegal reconstruction done in the past week at top speed! They have also watched the entire pavement on this narrow being totally encroached without action. My complaint has been on a larger issue. This dangerous dog whistle is entirely the work of @mybmcWardGS and I want to put it here in the public domain. It smacks of endemic corruption and vested interest!! @MumbaiPolice @CPMumbaiPolice please note.
Dear @AshwiniBhide - this pavement block opposite the @mybmc sanitation office was removed at the personal instruction of your predecessor Mr Gagrani. Less than a year it is back despite informing #SwapnajaKshirsagar at @mybmcWardGS ! Yawning gap between @mybmc claims and demolitions and reality!? Or is the clean up selective? This entire lane (old prabhadevi road) has less than a clear lane for cars, rampant wrong side driving and no one- way signage despite repeated reminders @MTPHereToHelp !
