Not to get too political, but do any red states have BBQ that competes with blue states?

Honestly, Dems in NC should say to some random GOP state senator “hey man, if you join us for fair maps you get a safe seat and some committee assignments.”
the optimal dem strategy on gerrymandering seems obvious to me: we can end gerrymandering once and for all by passing a national ban in Congress. and tell Trump that if he vetoes it, we will move forward with our own gerrymanders in every state we just flipped last week

Florida is going to become unlivable for young ppl. It’s gonna be a retirement community with theme parks. Reducing taxes this extremely basically reduces almost all basic services. Insurance costs will📈. Depending on the Federal Government 📈. This is a terrible idea.
Florida has PASSED Amendment 3 to slash and eventually abolish PROPERTY TAXES for homeowners' primary residence 62% voting in favor. The amendment needed 60% to pass.

So incredibly poor decision making by Bear Bachmier. What a horrid second half he just played

Mamdani getting elected and spending a year on extremely popular projects helped Dems everywhere imo. He was supposed to be on the new Mount Rushmore of scary liberals. Saw him on lots of attack mailers. Didn't scare people at all. When I sat down w Mamdani during the 2025 primary he said his model was Bernie in Burlington - the "ooh, scary socialist" mayor who capitalizes on all the attention he gets and makes civic improvements so it stops being scary. And so far that's clearly worked. semafor.com/article/06/12/20…

Last week we saw two kickers make back to back 60-yard FGs and nobody has made a single FG since.

I used to think they were joking, but they genuinely, unironically think you can run a far left candidate in every single part of the country, and they expect every candidate to be far left whether it’s in New York City or Mississippi. They can’t conceptualize someone not as far left as them.
chronically online leftists already complaining about moderate southern democrats. pls give me a break

Wiggins might be the most talented player of all time because he was able to survive in the league for 10+ years strictly off talent. Never added anything to his game. Zero hard work. God gave him a 7 FT wingspan w/a 44 inch vertical and he was able to get $250M out of it. Salute

If Jokic at 6’11 280lbs did a 360 mid air for a kick out to the corner, they could call it whatever and get away with it
If Nikola Jokic did this it would be called “The day time stopped”

You just saw NC State with a good coach and not enough money to keep the stars they signed and developed. How did that go? Do you think @CoachDWD and @Andy_Vaughn just forgot how to do their jobs?
Replying to @BudElliott3
But NC State will never be able to accrue the level of talent like LSU, even in the NIL era.

Wemby is unbeatable for bad teams. Bad teams usually already cannot score at a high level and now you have a 7’5 lid on the rim.
Spurs just have a roster incapable of losing to bad teams

yup. miami dade alone will stand to lose nearly $700 million in two years. the cuts on the local level will be BRUTAL. but the people voted for it. you cant have low taxes and great services. well find that out soon.
Has anybody else realised yet that Florida voters decided to increase the property tax exemption by 500% and enact a cap in how much they can raise by each year? one bad hurricane and that state is going fucking bankrupt

Scott Colom was recruited by Schumer, won his election, and Schumer's last minute ad buy in MS was probably decisive given how narrow the margin was.
Chuck Schumer saw 4 Black Senate candidates closing in on historic Southern upsets—Nixon in FL, Davis in LA, Wess in AL, and Colom in MS—and starved every single campaign. Left 4 Senate seats on the table because his playbook is from 1980.

If an editor with little/no experience came with 30% more money for writers than some rockstar editor you’d hire the newbie, right?
NC State can now get a head start on hiring a high school coach to run a Power 4 football program.

Any time a candidate gets at least 20 votes, I suspect fraud. The chances are less than one in a million.
It's just not probable. Texas was stolen!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The post's calculation assumes 2.9 million voters all chose one candidate. In the 2026 Texas general election, about 9.9 million ballots were cast, with Democrats winning the Senate race 55.1% to 43.0% and Governor 52.8% to 45.7%. Both Republican candidates conceded. txelectionresults.com/2026-general-e… viewfromthegallery.com/breakdown/texa…
