AI generated text has a flattening effect on communication that I do not like.
It makes everyone sound the same. When everyone sounds the same, you don't really know what other people are thinking because it's not clear that they even are.

The problem with trying to draw comparisons between Zohran and Abdul is that Zohran comes off as really nice and approachable and Abdul comes off as a giant douchebag.

Stewart was an accomplished actor when he took on Star Trek. But he never treated the role as beneath him. He brought the same gravitas he would have brought to Hamlet. Franchises, particularly the MCU, have benefited from that real commitment of top-tier actors for 40+ years now

A bit of background: the Danish pilot was put on hold following a government reorganisation, before a formal evaluation could be completed, and the reported issues were resolved. Work with other Danish public authorities continues.

I fucking love body cams.
I love them when they back up my client's story, and the cop is being a huge jerk, and the jury will never convict just because they hate the cop.
And I love them when they wreck my client's story, and we enter a plea.
Amazing tool.
I used to review officer-involved shooting reports generated by a D.A. explaining the decision to exonerate officers, and recall often thinking “I mean, could that *really* be how it went down?” I suspected there may be some fog of war or selective memory or post-hoc justification to give the officer a rational justification and paint the victim in a negative, irrational light.
But with the post-2020 adoption of body cams, I now believe it all. There is no behavior too insane for a huge number of suspects when confronted with literally any command by an officer requesting some form of compliance.
Even I thought body cams would shine a light on some substantial percentage of clear officer abuse, but it’s clearly negligible, while dangerous and erratic behavior by suspects is widespread. It is impossible to overstate how wrong BLM and reform activists were on this count.

There is also and more painfully 'women don't like sex' as asserted by straight men.

Saying (as a guy) that your experience of heterosexuality is that women aren't physically attracted to men is a real telling on yourself moment.

"Hear me out" is for people you find attractive that most people of your sexual orientation would not - an "unpopular would." Someone who's hot but a sociopath is an "I could fix her."
In all seriousness, the US benefits when conservatives tell these kids to quit complaining and work harder.
NEW: Roughly 2/3 of young men say the US economy is poor and headed in the wrong direction.

Commentary on the heterosphere is yes very much tilted towards the goings-on between particularly rich and powerful men and especially young, gorgeous, and either vulnerable or conniving women. The rest of humanity might as well not exist.

Are they writing specifically about sugarbaby dynamics? Like, these dynamics aren't that relevant to most normal relationships like couples who met in college. Similar-age couples make up the vast majority of US couples.

idk how widespread this is, but back when I was hiring for a pretty basic data analytics/engineering role that really just required some fluency with Python and SQL, HR would tell me all the time with a straight face they just couldn't find any marginally qualified resumes for me to even look at. And when I got frustrated and asked to see some resumes they thought "weren't qualified" it became clear there was a huge disconnect

There's a season of life element here too. If you are one of the first in your group to get married and everyone is excited and interested in a big party, go for it. If you are one of the later ones, your friends have kids, and no one's that enthusiastic...

Abdul El-Sayed did not make the new ad people are appalled by. It's pushed by Cenk Uygur, repurposed from his 2024 flop of a presidential campaign. And Cenk is a ratfucker. He did this the day after the rally with Obama. You should assume he's trying to tank El-Sayed's race. 1/
New low for normalized Jew-hate in the American Democratic Party. Very sad:
Painting your political opponents as puppets of Jews, as this El-Sayed ad does, and as crazed baby-killers and money-grubbing villains who are the root cause of every bad thing not just in the world, but in your life—from wars to the price of eggs to the reason you can’t have free healthcare—is not just low-grade Jew-hate. It’s pure Third Reich stuff, translated directly from the original German.
Do you remember when Jewish Democrats in Michigan explained that they would vote for El-Sayed despite his open disdain for Jews, since there are many other important issues they need him to fight for? That anything was worth it to “defeat MAGA”?
Well, here’s El-Sayed’s answer to them: Don’t worry, all those issues we agree on, like healthcare, inflation, and climate change, I’m going to make them about Jews too! I will tell the public that the Jews are the reason they can’t have those things.

I don’t think it’s discussed enough how much the modern Texas GOP (and really the national GOP) is a child of the 1980s California Republican Party. In Texas, it’s even more interesting because that shift is the direct result of the modern mass migration to the state in the 80s
